The information given shows that it has a mean of 11.93, a median of 10 and an interquartile range of 9. The box plot would most likely illustrate these values and that box plot would then be the appropriate one too choose.Thank you for your question. Answer:

Refer the attached figure.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The data below represents the number of hours an office assistant spends on the phone every week for 15 weeks.

{ 19, 6, 10, 7, 9, 5, 8, 9, 12, 9, 17, 14, 17, 18, 19 }

To find : Box plot of the data set?

Solution :

Step 1- Arranging the data from lowest to highest,

{5,6,7,8,9,9,9,10,12,14,17,17,18,19,19}

Step 2 - Find the median of the data

As the data is odd numbers so the median is \frac{n+1}{2} th term.

\frac{n+1}{2}=\frac{15+1}{2}=8th term.

8th term is 10 ⇒ Median =10

Step 3 - To find Upper quartile and lower quartile

Lower quartile data set is the median of the upper terms from median

{5,6,7,8,9,9,9}

Median of the set is 8

∴ Q_1=8

Upper quartile data set is the median of the lower terms from median

{12,14,17,17,18,19,19}

Median of the set is 17

∴ Q_3=17

Now, the box plot is created with the data above.

Refer the attached figure below.

Step-by-step explanation:

<em>On the graphs we see transformations of exponential functions</em>

<h3>Graphic 1 = Horizontal shift </h3>
  • f(x) = 2ˣ is the parent function
  • g(x) = 2ˣ⁺³ indicates shift to the left by 3 units
  • h(x) = 2ˣ⁻¹ indicates the shift to the right by 1 unit
<h3>Graphic 2 =Vertical shift</h3>
  • p(x) = (1/3)ˣ is the parent function
  • r(x) = (1/3)ˣ⁺³ indicates shift up by 3 units
  • q(x) = (1/3)ˣ⁻² indicates the shift down by 2 units

Which statement describes how the reasonable domain<br> compares to the mathematical domain?
tigry1 [53]

A statement which best describes how the reasonable domain compares to the mathematical domain is that: C. the mathematical domain includes all real numbers, while the reasonable domain includes only real numbers greater than 2.

<h3>What is a domain?</h3>

In Mathematics, a domain can be defined as the set of all real numbers for which a particular function is defined. This ultimately implies that, a domain is the set of all possible input numerical values or numbers to a function and the domain of any graph comprises all the input numerical values or numbers which are primarily shown on the x-axis.

Next, we would evaluate the function which represents the perimeter of this rectangle by substituting the value of 2 as follows:

f(w) = 6w – 8

f(2) = 6(2) – 8

f(2) = 12 – 8

f(2) = 4.

For the length of this rectangle, we have:

Length = 2w - 4

Length = 2(2) - 4

Length = 4 - 4

Length = 0

Therefore, the width of this rectangle must be real numbers that are greater than 2.

Complete Question:

A rectangle has a length that is equal to 4 less than twice the width. The function for the perimeter depending on the width can be expressed with the function f(w) = 6w – 8, where w is the width of the rectangle in centimeters.

Which statement describes how the reasonable domain compares to the mathematical domain?

Both the mathematical and reasonable domains include only positive real numbers.

Both the mathematical and reasonable domains include only positive whole numbers.

The mathematical domain includes all real numbers, while the reasonable domain includes only real numbers greater than 2.

The mathematical domain includes all real numbers, while the reasonable domain includes only whole numbers greater than 2.
