Chemistry

m_a_m_a [10]3 years ago
3 0

Rules for Numbers WITHOUT a Decimal Point

START counting for sig. figs. On the FIRST non-zero digit.

STOP counting for sig. figs. On the LAST non-zero digit.

Non-zero digits are ALWAYS significant.

Zeroes in between two non-zero digits are significant. All other zeroes are insignificant.

The pressure of a 250 mL sample of gas is 105 kPa. What would be the pressure if the volume were increased to 375 ml?
Arte-miy333 [17]

Answer:

<h2>The answer is 70 kPa</h2>

Explanation:

In order to find the pressure if the volume were increased to 375 ml we use Boyle's law

That's

P_1V_1 = P_2V_2

where

P1 is the initial pressure

P2 is the final pressure

V1 is the initial volume

V2 is the final volume

Since we are finding the final pressure

P_2 =  \frac{P_1V_1}{V_2}  \\

From the question

P1 = 105 kPa = 105 , 000 Pa

V1 = 250 mL

V2 = 375 mL

So we have

P_2 =  \frac{105000 \times 250}{375}  =  \frac{26250000}{375}  \\  = 70000

We have the final answer as

<h3>70 kPa</h3>

Hope this helps you

How many ions of Na+ and C1- will be present in 30g of NaCl? <br> Ans fast plis
ahrayia [7]

3.08*10^23 ions of Na+ and Cl- will be present in 30g of NaCl.

Weight of NaCl is equal to sum of weight of one mole of sodium and one mole of chloride.

Mathematically, it can be represented as -

1 mol (Na) + 1 mol (Cl)

= 23.0+ 35.5

= 58.5 g/mol

In 58.5  gram of NaCl, there is one mole of Na or 6.02*10^23 ions

In one gram of NaCl, there will be

  =6.02*10^23/58.5 sodium ions

In 30 grams of  NaCl, the number of sodium ions will be -

(6.02*10^23*30)/ 58.5

=3.08*10^23 ions
