Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

1 - a) I can't see it clearly but if it's: 2/3 × 2/4 it will be 2/3 × 1/2 = 3/6 = 1/2

1 - b) 1/2 × 3/8 = 3/16

1 - c) 7/8 × 3/5 = 21/40

1 - d) 2/7 × 5/8 = 10/56

2 - a) 2/3 × 5 = 10/3

2 - b) 4 × 7/8 = 28/8 = 7/2

2 - c) 3/5 × 12 = 36/5

2 - d) 8 × 4/7 = 32/7

3 - a) 3×1/8 × 4 = 3/8 × 4 = 12/8 = 3/2

3 - b) 5 × 7×1/2 = 5 × 7/2 = 35/2

3 - c) 3×2/3 × 6 = 6/3 × 6 = 2 × 6 = 12

3 - d) 10 × 1×2/3 = 10 × 2/3 = 20/3

4 - a) 2×1/2 × 3×1/3 = 2/2 × 3/3 = 1 × 1 = 1

4 - b) 1×1/5 × 3×3/4 = 1/5 × 9/4 = 9/20

4 - c) 2×1/2 × 2×1/2 = 2/2 × 2/2 = 1 × 1 = 1

4 - d) 4×1/3 × 2×3/5 = 4/3 × 6/5 = 24/15 = 8/5

I can barely see the majority of the questions
i cant do all but to multiply fractions, you just multiply the numerator and the denominator together
so 3 2/3 x 6
change 3 2/3 to an improper fraction
9/3 x 6/1 = 27/3 which is 9/1 reduced
10 x 1 2/3 is 10/1 x 5/3 = 50/3

Use the number line below to find a fraction that is equivalent to 1/2
Yuliya22 [10]

Answer:

4/8

Step-by-step explanation:

There are an infinite number of fractions equal to 1/2, but the number line in the question has 8 spaces, and shows 1 divided into 8 pieces. Therefore, the answer to this question is likely 4/8.

(may I ask why exactly this is put as a college level problem?)

In 2000, the population of a county was 25,300,987. The population decreased at a rate of 2% each year. What was the population
EastWind [94]

Answer: In 2008 the population was 21,525,144

Step-by-step explanation:

You need to use the following formula for Exponential decay:

P=P_0(1-r)^t

Where P_0 is the initial population in the year 0, r is the rate of decay and t is the time.

In this case, you can identify that:

P_0=25,300,987\\\\r=2\%\\\\t=8

Therefore, substituting these values into the formula for Exponential decay, you get:

P=P_0(1-r)^t\\\\P=(25,300,987)(1-\frac{2}{100})^8\\\\P=21,525,144

Then, in 2008 the population was 21,525,144
