Biogeography deals with the study of past and present distribution of animal and plant species.
It is related to physical geography as it often relates to the examination of the physical environment and how the affected species and shaped their distribution.
Examples of biogeography are: Changes in the lifestyle of humans and how it affects the environment, fossil records etc.
Biogeography can be defined as the study of the distribution of species of living organisms geographical in the various biomes or ecosystems present on earth.
We have 3 major branches of biogeography.
a. Conservational biogeography: This has to do with the preservation of the biodiversity of living organisms in order to preserve their distribution on the earth.
b. Historical biogeography: This has to do with the evolutions of living organisms and the way it affects their distribution on earth.
c. Ecological biogeography: This has to do with the way climate changes, presence of or lack of habitat influences the distribution of living organisms in their various ecosystems.
