  • Governor Wright fled the colony with British troops.
  • The royal government lost control of the colony.

Explanation:

The British had come to Georgia to buy provisions in March 1776 and the colonists responded by arresting the Royal Governor of the colony, James Wright. The event ended in battle as the British captured ships laden with rice.

Governor Wright was able to escape with the British troops however along with some rice boats which meant that the British Government lost control of Georgia as a result.
