1. oxygen and nutrients - blood carries oxygen and nutrients and transports it to the cells located in different parts of the body.

2. After transporting the oxygen and nutrients to the cell blood picks the carbon dioxide gas from the cell that is produced by the cellular respiration and transports it to the lungs to breathe out from the body.

3. Veins are the blood vessels that carry blood towards the heart from the various part of the body it carries deoxygenated blood.

4. Arteries are the blood vessels that carry oxygenated or oxygen-rich blood away from the heart to the different parts of the body.

5. Capillaries are the smallest blood vessels that get blood from the arterioles and are can be seen only under the microscope.

The list of main components of the circulatory system are :

Heart - that pumps or pushes blood throughout the body of the organism.

Blood - medium of transporting the oxygen and nutrients and have cells with different functions.

Blood vessels - are the tiny tube-like structures that carry blood to and from the heart.

The main function of the circulatory system is to transport oxygen and nutrients to provide the cells fuel for their cellar functions by performing cellular respiration.
