Elliot read a report from a previous year saying that 6%, percent of adults in his city biked to work. He wants to test whether

this has changed, so he is going to take a random sample of adults in his city and see what percent of them bike to work. Let p represent the proportion of adults in Elliot's city that bike to work.

Answer:

The appropriate set of hypothesis for his significance test is null hypothesis H_0: p = 0.06 and alternate hypothesis H_1: p \neq 0.06

Step-by-step explanation:

Elliot read a report from a previous year saying that 6%, percent of adults in his city biked to work. He wants to test whether this proportion has changed.

At the null hypothesis we test if the proportion is still the same, that is, of 6%. So

H_0: p = 0.06

At the alternate hypothesis, we test if the proportion has changed, that is, it is different of 6%. So

H_1: p \neq 0.06

What is an appropriate set of hypotheses for his significance test?

The appropriate set of hypothesis for his significance test is null hypothesis H_0: p = 0.06 and alternate hypothesis H_1: p \neq 0.06

Y=-3x+2 I need help plssssssss
kirill [66]
Graphing or solving for variable? I can solve for either. Of your looking for a graph just comment but I can help you when looking for a variable. So I don’t know if your solving for x or y but I will assume your solving for x. So,
1. Flip the equation; -3x+ 2 = y
2. Add -2 to both sides
3. Divide both sides by -3
Your answer: x= -1/3y + 2/3.

The length of my rectangular garden is 1 foot more than twice its width. The area of my garden is 55 square feet. What are the d
loris [4]

Answer:

Width = 5

Length = 11

Step-by-step explanation:

Let :

Width, = x

Length = 2x + 1

Area of rectangular garden is given as 55 ft²

Area of a rectangular garden, A = Length * width

Hence,

x * (2x + 1) = 55

2x² + x = 55

2x² + x - 55 = 0

Using the quadratic equation formula :

a = 2 ; b = 1, c = - 55

-b ± sqrt(b² - 4ac) / 2a

Using the quadratic equation solver to save computation time :

The roots are :

-5.5 and 5

Dimension can't be negative ; so x = 5

Hence,

width, x = 5

Length, 2x + 1 = 2(5) + 1 = 10 + 1 = 11

Hence,

Width = 5

Length = 11
