Devide 29 by 2.10 and you get 13.8095238 then round off to 13
So there are 13 dimes and 16 nickels
To check the answer just put 13 x 10 +16 x 5 in a calculator and the answer should be 210

X represents nickels
y represents dimes
x+y=29
5x+10y=210
multiply the first equation by -5 (elimination method)
-5x-5y=-145
then add the two equations together
5y=65
divide 5 from both sides
y=13
13 dimes

A parabola has its vertex at (2, 2), and the equation of its directrix is y = 2.5. The equation that represents the parabola is
LUCKY_DIMON [66]
We are given with the data of a parabola with vertex at (2, 2) and directrix at y = 2.5. the formua should be ax^2 + b x + c = y because of the directrix.

(x-h)^2 = 4a (y-k)
(x-2)^2 =4a (y-2)
a is the equidistant distance from focus to vertex and from vertex to directrix that is equal to -0.5
then the answer is
(x-2)^2 =-0.5*4 (y-2)
x2 - 4x + 4 = -2y +4
x2-4x+2y = 0

answer is C
