It's slope.

I'm not 100% sure but I hope I can help.

Sometimes with slope you will be given a graph with lines. You'll have to make equations based on the lines and where they are on the graph.

It means to look for points on the lines and make equations from them.

The lines are going through the graph in different directions. If you follow the lines you'll see that the lines go through some of the points on the graph but some parts of the lines don't.

It means to look for point the line goes through and make equations for them.

Like the ones written down already.

Basically, the easy way to do it, is taking the equation y=mx+b and replacing some of the variables with numbers from points to make an equation. But it has to actually make sense.

hope this helps:)

What is the first term in a geometric sequence if the common ratio is −3 and the sum of the first six terms is 1,274?Hint: cap s
Ber [7]

Answer is   -7

=============================================

Work Shown:

s_n = a_1*(1-r^n)/(1-r)

s_6 = a_1*(1-r^6)/(1-r)

s_6 = x*(1-(-3)^6)/(1-(-3))

s_6 = x*(1-729)/(1+3)

s_6 = x*(-728)/4

s_6 = x*(-182)

s_6 = -182x

-182x = s_6

-182x = 1274

x = 1274/(-182)

x = -7 is the first term of the geometric sequence

------------

Extra info:

The first six terms of this geometric sequence is

-7, 21, -63, 189, -567, 1701

those six terms add to

-7+21+(-63)+189+(-567)+1701 = 1274

which verifies we have the right answer.

Convert the following equation to Slope-Intercept Form
liq [111]

Answer:

y = 3x + 23

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the equation :

y - 8 = 3(x + 5)

We are to convert the equation to slope - intercept form:

Recall: general form of a slope - intercept model:

y = mx + c

Hence,

y - 8 = 3x + 15

y = 3x + 15 + 8

y = 3x + 23

Comparing :

y = mx + c

y = 3x + 23
