Answer: The volume of water added must be, 1.42 L

Explanation : Given,

Mass of sodium nitrate = 5.40 g

Concentration of solution = 3.81 g/L

3.81 g/L concentration means that, 3.81 grams of sodium nitrate present in 1 liter of water.

As, 3.81 grams of sodium nitrate present in 1 liter of water

So, 5.40 grams of sodium nitrate present in \frac{5.40}{3.81}=1.42 liter of water

Therefore, the volume of water added must be, 1.42 L

the concentration has been given as g/L. this is the mass of solute that can be dissolved in 1 L solution.
the concentration of the solution that needs to be prepared - 3.81 g/L
the mass of sodium nitrate is - 5.40 g
the volume needed for 3.18 g - 1 L
then the volume needed for 5.40 g - 1/3.18 x 5.40
volume of water needed - 1.42 L

You have a solution with an unknown concentration of hcl, in order to determine the concentration of hcl you titrate 35.00ml of
slava [35]

Answer:-

0.648 M

Explanation:-

Volume of Ba(OH)2= 34.63ml/1000=0.03463 litre

Number of moles of Ba(OH)2 = 0.3275 M x 0.03463 litre

= 0.01134 moles

Since Ba(OH)2 has 2 OH in its formula,

Number of moles of OH- = 2 x 0.01134=0.02268 moles.

Volume of HCl= 35ml/1000 = 0.035 litre

At the end point number of moles of H+ = number of moles of OH-.

Number of moles of HCL= Concentration of HCl x Volume of HCl

∴ Concentration of HCl = 0.02268 moles/ 0.035 litre

= 0.648 moles/ litre

= 0.648 M

Predict the most likely bond type for the following.
Amiraneli [1.4K]

Answer:

The three major types of bond are ionic, polar covalent, and covalent bonds. Ionic occurs majorly between metals and non-metals, which allows sharing of electrons to form an ionic compound. Whereas covalent bonding calls for complete transfer of electrons between atoms. Polar covalent bonds have unequaly shared electron-pair between two atoms.

Explanation:

a. Cu (Copper)- ionic bonding

b. KCl (Potassium Chloride) - ionic bonding

c. Si (Silicon) - covalent bonding

d. CdTe (Cadmium Telluride) - polar covalent bonding

e. ZnTe (Zinc Telluride)- polar covalent bonding

Which of the following sentences represents a physical change? sugar dissolves in coffee iron rusts gasoline burns in an engine
MAXImum [283]

Answer:

 • Physical changes example is sugar dissolves in coffee
 • Chemical changes examples are iron rusts, gasoline burns in an engine and a candle burns.

Explanation.

 • Physical changes depend on only physical state, not on composition, which can be separated by physical means while chemical changes depend on composition and only separated by chemical ways.
 • As in case of iron rusting, gasoline and candle burn are cases chemical changes bcz they convert into another substance whose composition is different from other as compare to sugar which has same composition in coffee ,only state is changed from solid to liquid.
