Toby skated from his house to the beach at a constant speed of 888 kilometers per hour, and then skated from the beach to the pa

rk at a constant speed of 777 kilometers per hour. The total distance Toby skated was 202020 kilometers, and it took him twice as long to get to the park. Let bbb be the number of hours it took Toby to skate from his house to the beach, and ppp the number of hours it took him to skate from the beach to the park. Answer:

8b+7p=20

p = 2b

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that there is a constant speed of 8 km per hour and the number of hours be b so here 8b signifies the distance

Now on the other hand there is a constant speed of 7 km per hour and the number of hours be p so here 7p signfies the distance

So the total distance would be

= 8b + 7p

And, the total km is 20

Now the whole equation would be

8b + 7p = 20

Also it is mentoined that for getting into the park it is twice for getting into the beach

So, it would be

p = 2b

Therefore the system of equations are as follows

8b+7p=20

p = 2b

The value of x in the equation log(x-1)9=2 is
mel-nik [20]
\log_{(x-1)} 9=2

the domain:
x-1 >0 \ \land \ x-1 \not=1 \\
x>1 \ \land \ x \not= 2 \\
x \in (1; 2) \cup (2;+\infty)

the equation:
\log_{(x-1)}9=2 \\
(x-1)^2=9 \\
\sqrt{(x-1)^2}=\sqrt{9} \\
|x-1|=3 \\
x-1=3 \ \lor \ x-1=-3 \\
x=4 \ \lor \ x=-2

4 is in the domain
-2 is not in the domain

The answer:
x=4

***
Also, the answer in 13 is {8}. -3 is not in the domain. Replace x with -3 and you'll see:
x=\sqrt{5x+24} \\
-3=\sqrt{5 \times (-3)+24} \\
-3=\sqrt{-15+24} \\
-3=\sqrt{9} \\
-3=3
It's not true so -3 isn't a solution to this equation.

Given the function, g(x)=5x^5/x^3-2x+1, choose the correct horizontal asymptote. none y = 0 y = 1 y = 3
viktelen [127]

Answer:  NONE

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

Consider that m is the degree of the numerator and n is the degree of the denominator.

The rules for horizontal asymptote (H.A.) are as follows:

If m > n   then no H.A. (use long division to find the slant asymptote)

If m = n   then H.A. is y = leading coefficient of numerator/leading coefficient of denominator

If m < n   then H.A. is y = 0

Given: g(x) = 5x⁵/(x³ - 2x + 1)

--> m = 5, n = 3

Since m > n then there is no H.A.
