The two programs, Bolsa Familia and the Program to Eradicate Child Labor (PETI), have been very successful. 40 million families have been lifted out of poverty. On average, children in Brazil receive twice as many years of schooling today as they did in the 1990s. In addition, the number of child workers has been cut in half.
