This week you will explore the wonderful world of descriptive statistics. You may not have noticed how often you. are presented

with statistics in the media and in everyday conversations. It is common for people to make statements like "Statistics show that… [insert claim]." Autism is more prevalent in boys than in girls. What sorts of follow up questions about the statistics might you ask that person in order to obtain the data needed to make a decision about the validity of that statement? Be sure to use concepts and vocabulary from this week to guide your response. Can I use Autism to find the statistics? I am completely at a loss! I appreciate your help. I am 54 and struggling with this part of Math anything you can suggest will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much! Inga

The sides of a parallelogram are 14ft and 16ft. One angle is 41° while another angle is 139°. Find the lengths of the diagonals
Semenov [28]

We will have the following:

First, we have that the problem can be seeing as follows:

Now, knowing this and the the properties of the diagonals we will have that [We use the law of cosines}:

First diagonal [AC} is given by:

\begin{gathered} AC=\sqrt{16^2+14^2-2cos(41)}\Rightarrow AC=10.67193085... \\  \\ \Rightarrow AC\approx10.7 \end{gathered}

So, one of the diagonals has an approximate length of 10.7 ft.

Second diagonal [BD] is given by:

\begin{gathered} BD=\sqrt{16^2+14^2-2(16)(14)cos(139)}\Rightarrow BD=28.10889347... \\  \\ \Rightarrow BD\approx28.1 \end{gathered}

So, the second diagonal has a length of approximately 28.1 ft.

<em>**Diagonals**</em>

\begin{gathered} AC\approx10.7ft \\  \\ BD\approx28.1ft \end{gathered}

Two angles are supplementary. the measure of one angle is 4 more than 2 times the measure of teh other andgle. Write an equation
ch4aika [34]

Answer:

y=58.67^{\circ}

x=121.33^{\circ}

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that two angles are supplementary .

We have to write an equation that can be used to find the measures.

Let x and y are supplementary

According to question

x+y=180^{\circ}( by definition of supplementary angles)

x=2y+4

Substitute the value then we get

2y+4+y=180

3y=180-4

3y=176

y=\frac{176}{3}

y=58.67^{\circ}

Substitute the value then, we get

x+58.67=180

x=180-58.67

x=121.33^{\circ}
