424.1

the nearest 10th refers to the first decimal place therefore there would only need to be 1 decimal place. and you don’t the round the 1 up when dropping the 2 because the 2 is less than five.

In the solution of the equation 5 + 3x = -2x + 9, 2 x is added to the equation first. which of the following should be done next
wariber [46]

Hi!

Let's do the first step (add 2x).

5 + 3x + 2x = -2x + 2x + 9

5 + 5x = 9

Our goal is to isolate x on one side, so the next step would be to subtract 5 (or add -5).

5 + -5 + 5x = 9 + -5

5x = 4

The answer is B. add -5

And if you want to finish solving, you would divide by 5 on both sides.

5x/5 = 4/5

x = 0.8

Hope this helps! :)

Determine the intercepts of the line.
y=5x-13

Y-Intercept ( , )
X-Intercept ( , )
Arte-miy333 [17]

Answer:

Y-intercept is (0, -13)

X-intercept is at (13/5, 0)

Step-by-step explanation:

When it's in this form, y = mx + b, you automatically know what the y-intercept is (b).

So the y-intercept is (0, -13)

To algebraically find this, you'd plug in a 0 for x, since the y intercept is when it crosses the y-axis, which is located at x = 0.

To find the x intercept, you'd do the opposite of the y-intercept, which is plugging in a 0 for y and solving for x. The x-axis is located at y = 0.

0 = 5x - 13

13 = 5x

x = 13/5

The x-intercept is at (13/5, 0)

I hope this helped!

Conditional Probability

To solve for P(QIR) we use the formula:
P(QIR)=[P(Q∩R)]/P(R)
But from the diagram:
P(Q∩R)=3/22
P(R)=7/22
hence
P(QIR)=3/22÷7/22=3/7

Find the slope of the line passing through the points (8,-6)
and (4,-8)
.
Murljashka [212]

Answer:

1/2 is the slope of the line

Step-by-step explanation:

To find slope, use the following equation

slope (m) = (y₂ - y₁)/(x₂ - x₁)

First, set each coordinate. Let:

(x₁ , y₁) = (8 , -6)

(x₂ , y₂) = (4 , -8)

Plug in the corresponding numbers for the corresponding variables.

m = (y₂ - y₁)/(x₂ - x₁)

m = (-8 - (-6))/(4 - 8)

Simplify. Note that two negative signs would result in a positive sign.

m = (-8 + 6)/(4 - 8)

Combine like terms.

m = -2/-4

Simplify. Divide common factors from both the numerator and denominator.

m = (-2/-4)/(-2/-2) = 1/2

1/2 is the slope of the line
