Givens

Total Resistance (the bulbs are connected in series)

  • R = r1 + r2
  • r1 = 3 ohms
  • r2 = 3 ohms
  • R = 3 + 3 = 6 ohms
  • E = 12 volts
  • I = ??

Formula

E = I * R

Solution

12 = I * 6         Divide both sides by 6

12/6 = I*6/6

2 = I

The current = 2 amperes. Answer

The components of vector Upper A Overscript right-arrow EndScripts are Ax and Ay (both positive), and the angle that it makes wi
earnstyle [38]

Answer:

(a) θ = 45° = 0.78 rad

(b) θ = 32.27° = 0.56 rad

(c) θ = 57.27° = 1 rad

Explanation:

When a vector is resolved into its rectangular components, the formula for the direction angle of the vector with positive x-axis is given as:

tan θ = Ay/Ax

θ = tan⁻¹(Ay/Ax)

(a)

Ax = 12 m

Ay = 12 m

θ = tan⁻¹(12 m/ 12 m)

θ = tan⁻¹(1)

<u>θ = 45° = 0.78 rad</u>

<u />

(b)

Ax = 19 m

Ay = 12 m

θ = tan⁻¹(12 m/19 m)

θ = tan⁻¹(0.6315)

<u>θ = 32.27° = 0.56 rad</u>

<u />

(c)

Ax = 12 m

Ay = 19 m

θ = tan⁻¹(19 m/12 m)

θ = tan⁻¹(1.58333)

<u>θ = 57.27° = 1 rad</u>

An ideal parallel-plate capacitor having circular plates of diameter D that are a distance d apart stores energy U when it is co
Stella [2.4K]

Answer:\sqrt{3}D

Explanation:

Given

Diameter of Plates is D

distance between Plates is d

Energy Stored in the Plates is U

Suppose fixed Potential is V

Energy is given by

U=\frac{1}{2}CV^2

where C=capacitance

C=\frac{\epsilon A}{d}

where A=area of Plates

A=\frac{\pi D^2}{4}

Thus C=\frac{\epsilon \cdot \pi \cdot D^2}{4d}

Keeping all other factors as same

U\propto D^2----1

For triple the Energy

3U\propto (D')^2-----2

divide 1 and 2 we get

\frac{U}{3U}=\frac{D^2}{D'^2}

D'=\sqrt{3}D

Thus the diameter should be change to \sqrt{3} times of original value
