Botulin can be fatal because it can block the release of acetylcholine from nerves ending. Blockage of acetylcholine at the peripheral nerve endings will ensure that the nerves are not able to stimulate the muscles. The toxin also affect other systems in the body leading to respiratory arrest which can result in death if the trend is not promptly reversed.
