Italian dressing is a heterogeneous mixture because the mixture contain substances of different phase. There are both liquid and solid in the dressing, therefore it is heterogeneous. I believe it is the final sentence: I left for college when I was 18 (that was also the age at which I was married). This is because the parentheses also give information about another incident that took place at the time - his/her marriage.
We wouldn’t have the resources we need to get through life such as cooking food, clothing for when we get cold, weapons to protect ourselves, and generally things to keep us alive. If we didn’t have fire we wouldn’t be able to stay warm, and healthy. If we didn’t have weapons like steel, iron, wood, we couldn’t make those things in to self defense mechanisms.
