Is the relationship between the temperature scales proportional?Why or why not?
zhannawk [14.2K]

Answer: No, see explanation below

Step-by-step explanation:

For the relationship between the temperature scales to be proportional, the ratio (the number we get when dividing the given temperature in Celsius by the temperature in Fahrenheit) has to be constant.

\frac{0}{32}=0\\\frac{10}{50}=0.2\\\frac{20}{68}=0.29

In the example, I give, we can see that is not the case. It applies to any value as well, therefore the relationship between the temperature scales is NOT proportional

Four times a number increased by 3 is the same as twice the number increased by 9? I'm horrible at these
Anna71 [15]
The question says:
4(x) +3 = 2(x) + 9
so now you need to find x
first you should add -2(x) on both sides of the equation and then add -3 on both sides:
4(x) - 2(x) = 9 - 3
2(x) = 6
now you can divide both sides by 2:
x = 6/2
x = 3 :)))
I hope this is helpful
have a nice day

The formula for simple interest is I = PRT where I is the interest paid/earned, P is the principal amount deposited/invested, R is the rate as a decimal, and T = time in years.

I = PRT

I = (4500)(0.019)(10)
