Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

We know the perimeter of a triangle is the sum of all the sides( two legs and one hypotenuse).

By pythagoras we know that

h^2= a^2+b^2.

and the perimeter is P=h+a+b.

Since P=24 and a=6  we have these equations:

h^2=36+b^2\\24=h+6+b

From the last equation we have h=18-b. Replace h in the first equation we get that

(18-b)^2=36+b^2

18^2-36b+b^2=36+b^2\\288=36b\\b=\frac{288}{36}=8

and h=18-8=10

According to the United Nations, in the year 2002, the population of the world was 6.1 billion people and was growing at an annu
zmey [24]

Answer:

(a) 6.2843 billion

(b) 6.8716 billion

Step-by-step explanation:

Since there is a constant growth rate of 1.5% per year, and the population in 2002 was 6.1 billion people. The general equation for the total world population, in billions, after 2002 is:

P(t) = 6.1*(1+0.015)^t

With t being the time, in years, after 2002.

a) What was the population in 2004?

t=2004-2002=2\\P(2) = 6.1*(1.015)^2\\P(2) = 6.2843 \ billion

b) What was the population in 2010?

t=2010-2002=8\\P(8) = 6.1*(1.015)^8\\P(8) = 6.8716 \ billion

A family wants to rent a car to go on vacation. Company A charges $50.50 and 9c per mile.
hjlf
<h3>Answer:  0.05x+10</h3>

Work Shown:

x = number of miles

Cost of company A = 0.09x+50.50

Cost of company B = 0.14x+60.50

Subtract the two expressions (B-A) to find the difference in price

B-A = (0.14x+60.50)-(0.09x+50.50)

B-A = 0.14x+60.50-0.09x-50.50

B-A = (0.14x-0.09x) + (60.50-50.50)

B-A = 0.05x+10
