Answer:

The proportion of children in this age range between 70 lbs and 85 lbs is of 0.9306.

Step-by-step explanation:

When the distribution is normal, we use the z-score formula.

In a set with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, the zscore of a measure X is given by:

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

The Z-score measures how many standard deviations the measure is from the mean. After finding the Z-score, we look at the z-score table and find the p-value associated with this z-score. This p-value is the probability that the value of the measure is smaller than X, that is, the percentile of X. Subtracting 1 by the pvalue, we get the probability that the value of the measure is greater than X.

A study suggested that children between the ages of 6 and 11 in the US have an average weightof 74 lbs, with a standard deviation of 2.7 lbs.

This means that \mu = 74, \sigma = 2.7

What proportion of childrenin this age range between 70 lbs and 85 lbs.

This is the pvalue of Z when X = 85 subtracted by the pvalue of Z when X = 70. So

X = 85

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

Z = \frac{85 - 74}{2.7}

Z = 4.07

Z = 4.07 has a pvalue of 1

X = 70

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

Z = \frac{70 - 74}{2.7}

Z = -1.48

Z = -1.48 has a pvalue of 0.0694

1 - 0.0694 = 0.9306

The proportion of children in this age range between 70 lbs and 85 lbs is of 0.9306.

Alec starts up a monthly subscription potato box. It costs 18.20 dollars per month,
denis-greek [22]

A. The formula (mathematical function) for the monthly revenue, R, earned by Alec, R(s, n) = <u>$18.20s + $5n</u>.

B.  Using the formula above, the value of R(10, 3) is $197.

<h3>What is a function?</h3>

A function is an expression, rule, or law defining the relationship between an independent variable and a dependent variable.

Functions are used to define physical relationships between variables.

<h3>Data and Calculations:</h3>

Cost monthly subscription = $28.20 per box

Number of normal potatoes in each box = 16

Cost of additional luxury potatoes = $5 per potato

If the monthly revenue function, R, is given as R(s, n) where:

s = number of monthly subscribers

n = total number of luxury potatoes ordered

The monthly revenue, R, earned by Alec, R(s, n) = <u>$18.20s + $5n</u>.

The value of R(10, 3) is $197 ($18.20 x 10 + $5 x 3)

Thus, using the formula above, the value of R(10, 3) is $197.

(PLEASE HELP) The table below - does it represent an exponential function?
Aliun [14]
Short answer: I don't know, but that doesn't mean I can't give you something that you can decide for yourself.
y = 4*2^(2n - 2) is the pattern.
Go for broke. Try n = 4. You should get 256. Let's try it.
y = 4 * 2^(2*4 - 2)
y = 4 * 2^(8 - 2)
y = 4 * 2^6
y = 4 * 64
y = 256 yup it works.

The other end is just as important. Suppose n = 1
Then y = 4 * 2^(2*1 - 2) = 4 * 2^0 = 4*1 = 4 Both work.

If this formula is correct, we can abbreviate it to make your task easier.
y = 4 * 2^(2n - 2)
y = 2^2 * 2^(2n - 2)
y = 2^(2n - 2 + 2)
y = 2^(2n) Now try the two end points again.

n = 4
y = 2^(2*4)
y  =  2^8
y = 256

n = 1
y = 2^(2*1)
y = 2^2
y = 4 which again checks.

so y = 2^(2n) I think is an exponential function.
Sorry my explanation is so long.

Triangles are the easiest shape to make a hexagon out of. You can do this by lining up 6 triangles where each base of the triangle lines up.

Find the exact value of T Image below
Elanso [62]

Answer:

a) 1/800 or 0.00125

b) i) 0.0013

ii) 0.001

c) 60%

Step-by-step explanation:

T = [tan(2×30)+1][2cos(30)-1] ÷ (y²-x²)

T = (tan60 + 1)(2cos30 - 1) ÷ (41² - 9²)

T = (sqrt(3) + 1)(sqrt(3) - 1) ÷ 1600

T = (3-1)/1600

T = 2/1600

T = 1/800

T = 0.00125

Error: 0.002 - 0.00125
