I believe the correct answer is A. It is the correct sentence structure. The apostrophes are on their right places. For B, the apostrophe on inches should be deleted and the it should be moved after the s in the word students. For C, the last "s" in the students's should be deleted. For D, an apostrophe should be inserted in todays and the apostrophe after prayers should be deleted.<span />

Anastaziya [24]

Answer:

Dickinson sees fame as something she prefers to avoid. This short poem shows how Emily treasures keeping a private identity above all, and how little she cared about being in the public eye, she even disliked to be "somebody" (How dreary it is!); At the same time, she addresses the reader as a "nobody" too, as if it was a good thing to be.

Read this excerpt from The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass.
Naddik [55]

Answer: They treat enslaved persons civilly to avoid their neighbours’ judgement.

Douglass argues that slaveowners in the city often treat their slaves better than those that live in plantations because they are worried about their reputation. He implies this by saying that they do not want to "incur the odium attaching to the reputation of being a cruel master." This concern for their reputation makes the life of a slave in the city a lot more tolerable.
