Which of the following correctly describes the hierarchy of genetic material within a cell

Physics

Answer: D- Each chromosome in a cell is made up of two chromatids, which are each made up of molecules of DNA

Explanation:

A macromolecule is a large molecule that is made of many smaller units. Chromosomes are macromolecules that contain all of the genetic information in a cell. Chromosomes are each made of two smaller units called chromatids. Chromatids are each made up of molecules of DNA. Therefore, the correct description of the hierarchy of genetic material in a cell is that each chromosome in a cell is made up of two chromatids, which are each made up of molecules of DNA. The structures become more and more microscopic as one moves down the hierarchy.

The potential (relative to infinity) at the midpoint of a square is 3.0 V when a point charge of +Q is located at one of the cor
Sveta_85 [38]

Answer:

d) 12 V

Explanation:

Due to the symmetry of the problem, the potential (relative to infinity) at the midpoint of the square, is the same for all charges, provided they be of the same magnitude and sign, and be located at one of the corners of the square.

We can apply the superposition principle (as the potential is linear with the charge) and calculating the total potential due to the 4 charges, just adding the potential due to any of  them:

V = V(Q₁) + V(Q₂) +V(Q₃) + V(Q₄) = 4* 3.0 V = 12. 0 V

If a train going 60 m/s hits the brakes, and it takes the train 85 seconds to stop, what is
Anvisha [2.4K]

Question :-

  • If a Train going with 60 m/s Speed hits the Brakes, and takes 85 sec to stop. What is the Acceleration of the Train ?

Answer :-

  • Acceleration of Train is 0.70 m/s² .

Explanation :-

As per the provided information in the given question, we have been given that the Speed of the Train is 60 m/s . Time taken to stop the Train is 85 sec . And, we have been asked to calculate the Acceleration of the Train .

For calculating the Acceleration , we will use the Formula :-

\bigstar \:  \:  \:  \boxed { \sf{ \: Acceleration \:  =  \:  \dfrac{v \:  -  \: u}{t} \:  }} \\

Where ,

  • V denotes to Final Velocity .
  • U denotes to Initial Velocity .
  • T denotes to Time Taken .

Therefore , by Substituting the given values in the above Formula :-

\dag \:  \:  \:  \:  \sf{Acceleration \:  =  \:  \dfrac{Final  \: Velocity \:  -  \: Initial \: Velocity}{Time} } \\

\longmapsto \:  \:  \: \sf{Acceleration \:  =  \:  \dfrac{0 \:  -  \: 60}{85} } \\

\longmapsto \:  \:  \: \sf{Acceleration \:  =  \:  \dfrac{60}{85} } \\

\longmapsto \:  \:  \: \textbf {\textsf {Acceleration \:  =  \: 0.70 }}

Hence :-

  • Acceleration = 0.70 m/s² .

A ball with mass m kg is thrown upward with initial velocity 22 m/s from the roof of a building 25 m high. Neglect air resistanc
makvit [3.9K]

Answer:

(a) 24.7 metres

(b) 5.4 seconds

Explanation:

(a) To solve this part, we only need the initial velocity of the ball, u = 22 m/s

We apply one of Newton's equations of motion to solve this:

v² = u² - 2gs

Where v = final velocity

u = initial velocity

g = acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s

s = distance moved by ball

Note: The equation has a negative sign because the ball is moving against the gravitational force.

The maximum height reached by the ball will be attained when the ball's final velocity, v, is 0 m/s.

Hence:

0² = 22² - 2 * 9.8 * s

=> 19.6s = 22²

19.6s = 484

s = 484 / 19.6 = 24.7 m

The maximum height reached by the ball is 24.7 m

(b) We have to solve two parts, the time it take a takes the ball to reach its maximum height and the time it takes to fall after reaching maximum height.

TIME IT TAKES TO REACH MAXIMUM HEIGHT

Using another one of Newton's equations, we have that:

v = u - gt

We already have that v = 0 m/s and u = 22 m/s.

Hence:

0 = 22 - 9.8t

9.8t = 22

=> t = 22 /9.8 = 2.2 seconds

TIME IT TAKES TO FALL AFTER REACHING MAXIMUM HEIGHT

Since the ball was thrown from a height of 25 m and it has now reached 24.7 m higher, the ball is now at a height of:

25 + 24.7 = 49.7 m

We apply another one of Newton's equations of motion to obtain the time it will take to reach the ground:

s = ut + ½gt²

t = time taken

The initial velocity will become zero (0 m/s) at the point because the ball is beginning its descent.

Hence:

49.7 = (0*t) + ½ * 9.8 * t²

49.7 = 4.9t²

=> t² = 49.7 / 4.9 = 10.14

=> t = 3.2 seconds

It will take the ball 3.2 seconds to hit the ground after it starts descending.

The total time it takes the ball to hit the ground will therefore be:

T = 2.2 + 3.2 = 5.4 seconds

Vesnalui [34]

Answer:

A) Having a positive slope

D) Approaching zero pressure as temperature approaches infinity

Explanation:

A fixed amount of ideal gas is kept in a container of fixed volume. The absolute pressure P, in pascals, of the gas is plotted as a function of its temperature T, in degrees Celsius. Which of the following are properties of a best fit curve to the data? Select two answers.

A) Having a positive slope

B) Passing through the origin

C) Having zero pressure at a certain negative temperature

D) Approaching zero pressure as temperature approaches infinity

solution

from the ideal gas equation

PV=nRT

P=pressure

T=absolute temperature in kelvin

V=volume

R=gas constant 8.314j/molK

n=mole= mass/molecular mass

P=nRT/V

nR/V is the constant

P=nR(Tc+273)/V

plotting the graph we will discover that as pressure increases , temperature also increases . which means it's a positive graph.
