What physics concept underlies these three observations? When passing an oncoming truck on the highway, your car tends to sway t
jeka57 [31]

Answer:

The underlying principle is the bernoulli's principle of fluid flow which states that a slow moving air stream exerts more pressure than a faster moving air stream

Explanation:

The air stream between the car and the truck experiences more drag and therefore has a relatively higher speed than the air stream on the other side of the car, this means the air on the other side exerts more side force on the car, the net side force causes the car to swoop sideways towards the truck.

The same applies to a moving convertible car at high speed. The air outside has a higher relative velocity than the air inside the car. The inside air exerts more force on the canvass roof causing it to bulge upwards.

The windows of old train crack due to the pressure from the air within the old train which moves at a lower relative speed to that between the train and the speed train.

The dimension of Radius of gyration
serg [7]
Answer: So finally, the dimensional formula of the radius of gyration will be written as: [M0LT0]. The power of zero on the dimension of the mass and time shows that the mass and the time dimensions are zero for the radius of gyration. Hope this helps (:

Suppose 1.4 mol of an ideal gas is taken from a volume of 2.5 m3 to a volume of 1.0 m3 via an isothermal compression at 27°C. (a
zysi [14]

Answer:

Part a)

Q = 3198 J

Part b)

It is compression of gas so this is energy transferred to the gas

Explanation:

Part a)

Energy transfer during compression of gas is same as the work done on the gas

In isothermal process work done is given by the equation

W = nRT ln(\frac{V_2}{V_1})

now we know that

n = 1.4 moles

T = 27 degree C = 300 K

V_2 = 2.5 m^3

V_1 = 1 m^3

now we have

W = (1.4)(8.31)(300)(ln\frac{2.5}{1})

Q = 3198 J

Part b)

It is compression of gas so this is energy transferred to the gas

Work out the current through an electric kettle with a power of 2.2 kW if it uses the 180 V mains supply. Round your answer to 2
weeeeeb [17]

Answer:

12 A

Explanation:

Given,

Power of electric kettle=2.2 kW=2200W (since 1kW=1000W)

Voltage=180V

Current=?

Power = Voltage*Current

Current = Power ÷ Voltage

=2200W ÷ 180V

=12.22 Ampere

=12 A
