The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although there are no options attach we can say the following.

According to the "Social Contract" theory, in general terms, people have to be willing to give up some rights or liberties in order to allow the government to protect them.

The Social Contract was an idea that originated from the mind of Jean-Jaques Rosseau, a brilliant thinker of the times of the Enlightenment. He said that people have to give up some of their rights so the government could protect them as part of the society.

The example I could give of a "freedom" that you give up in order to maintain a "more healthy and organized" society is the application and enforcement of the law.

The law is enforced by the judicial system in a democratic and republican country, in order to impart fair justice for all. So you have to give up your right to defend yourself and instead, use the judicial and legal system so justice can be imparted.

In the garden of Eden, God provided everything for man because of His divine attribute of:
Anestetic [448]

<u>The answer is (D)- Love.</u>

<h3>In the first<em> "Book"</em> of the bible <em>Genesis</em>, it says that God created everything, and that there was no sin. Tho that sounds like righteousness, most believers in <em><u>Christ</u></em> will tell you its love. So according to the Bible, god gave everything to man because he<u><em> loved</em></u> them. Then also according to the Bible "man" ate the apple on the tree in which the Bible said not to, telling "man" they had sinned giving them the knowledge of <u>"Good and Evil".</u> </h3>

Which groups were likely to support the war against Mexico
andrey2020 [161]

Answer: Democrats, especially those in the Southwest, strongly favoured the Mexican-American War. Most Whigs, however, viewed the war as conscienceless land grabbing, and the Whig-controlled House voted 85 to 81 to censure Democratic Pres. James K. Polk for having “unnecessarily and unconstitutionally” initiated the war.

1. What city was the first capital of the United States?
cluponka [151]

Answers:

  1. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  2. Christopher Columbus (1492)
  3. August 2, 1776
  4. The Niña, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria
  5. The Meuse-Argonne Offensive (World War 1)

===================================================

Explanations:

  1. The capital would change places throughout the young history of the US before permanently moving to Washington D.C. This location is a sort of neutral ground between the north and south (note how it's fairly halfway between the two extremes).
  2. Despite Columbus discovering the Americas in 1492, the Vikings were actually before him. Though I have a feeling your teacher is leaning toward Columbus considering question 4 asks about that. Also, the Native Americans were already in the Americas when both parties discovered the continents, so it really depends on how you phrase the question.
  3. Many think that July 4th, 1776 was the date of signing, but this is likely not the case. The declaration started around this time window, but the actual signing process took place August 2, 1776.
  4. These three ships were the ones that first arrive in the Americas in 1492. Some scholars dispute that these were the official names of the ships and they may have had other names. I have a feeling your teacher will be leaning toward the answer I mentioned above.
  5. It probably depends on context. If you mean on American soil, then the deadliest civil war battle would be the Battle of Gettysburg (7,863 people killed). If you expand out the scope to include any American war, then the deadliest battle was The Meuse-Argonne Offensive during World War 1. About 26,277 people died during this battle. I'm defining "deadliest" in terms of the most number of people killed.
