Answer:

a) The interval is for those that want to get out earlier is 43 < n < 47 students

b) The interval is for those that want to get out later is 48 < n < 50 students

c) The group that wants to get out of school earlier could win if those who have no opinion vote with them

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

sample size (n) =128

mean = np where p is the probability

a) Probability of those that want to get out earlier = 0.35.

The mean of those that want to get out earlier = n × probability = 0.35 × 128 = 45

Margin of error = 4% = 0.04 × 45 = 1.8 ≈ 2

Therefore the interval = mean ± Margin of error = 45 ± 2 = (43, 47)

The interval is for those that want to get out earlier is 43 < n < 47 students

b) Probability of those that want to get out later = 0.39.

The mean = n × probability = 0.39 × 128 = 50

Margin of error = 4% = 0.04 × 50 = 2

Therefore the interval = mean ± Margin of error = 50 ± 2 = (48, 52)

The interval is for those that want to get out later is 48 < n < 50 students

c) The group that wants to get out of school earlier could win if those who have no opinion vote with them

Describe the possible values for x and y when ∣x − y ∣ > 0. What does it mean when ∣x − y ∣ = 0? Can ∣x − y ∣ < 0? Explain
Vilka [71]
The possible values for | x-y | > 0 is any number above 0. x must be greater than y. When | x-y | = 0, That means that x and y are equal to each other. | x-y | can not be less than 0, but it can equal 0.

Hope that this helped!
