The answer is :X^2 + 7x + 12
The mistake made was when expanding they added 3 and 4 together instead of multiplying it

Correct Answer:

x^2 + 7x + 12

Step-by-step explanation:

The error that was made, is that they accidentally added 3 and 4 together, during the distribution, when they should have multiplied it, leaving them with 7 instead of 12.

At a little-known vacation spot, taxi fares are a bargain. A 18-mile taxi ride takes 21 minutes and costs $12.60. You want t
nordsb [41]

Given :

A 18-mile taxi ride takes 21 minutes and costs $12.60.

To Find :

The cost of a 39- mile taxi ride. What unit price do you need.

Solution :

Unit price per mile :

p=\dfrac{12.60}{18}\\\\p = \$0.7\ /mile

Cost of 39 mile taxi ride :

C = 39\times p\\\\C=39\times 0.7\\\\C=\$27.3

Therefore, unit price is $27.3 and unit price is $0.7 / mile .

Hence, this is the required solution.

Evaluate the Riemann sum for f(x) = 3 - 1/2 times x between 2 and 14 where the endpoints are included with six subintervals taki
Digiron [165]

Answer:

-6

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that :

we are to evaluate the Riemann sum for f(x) = 3 - \dfrac{1}{2}x from 2 ≤ x ≤ 14

where the endpoints are included with six subintervals, taking the sample points to be the left endpoints.

The Riemann sum can be computed as follows:

L_6 = \int ^{14}_{2}3- \dfrac{1}{2}x \dx = \lim_{n \to \infty} \sum \limits ^6 _{i=1} \ f (x_i -1) \Delta x

where:

\Delta x = \dfrac{b-a}{a}

a = 2

b =14

n = 6

∴

\Delta x = \dfrac{14-2}{6}

\Delta x = \dfrac{12}{6}

\Delta x =2

Hence;

x_0 = 2 \\ \\  x_1 = 2+2 =4\\ \\  x_2 = 2 + 2(2) \\ \\  x_i = 2 + 2i

Here, we are  using left end-points, then:

x_i-1 = 2+ 2(i-1)

Replacing it into Riemann equation;

L_6 =  \lim_{n \to \infty}  \sum \imits ^{6}_{i=1} \begin {pmatrix}3 - \dfrac{1}{2} \begin {pmatrix}  2+2 (i-1)  \end {pmatrix} \end {pmatrix}2

L_6 =  \lim_{n \to \infty}  \sum \imits ^{6}_{i=1} 6 - (2+2(i-1))

L_6 =  \lim_{n \to \infty}  \sum \imits ^{6}_{i=1} 6 - (2+2i-2)

L_6 =  \lim_{n \to \infty}  \sum \imits ^{6}_{i=1} 6 -2i

L_6 =  \lim_{n \to \infty}  \sum \imits ^{6}_{i=1} 6 -   \lim_{n \to \infty}  \sum \imits ^{6}_{i=1} 2i

L_6 =  \lim_{n \to \infty}  \sum \imits ^{6}_{i=1} 6 - 2  \lim_{n \to \infty}  \sum \imits ^{6}_{i=1} i

Estimating the integrals, we have :

= 6n - 2 ( \dfrac{n(n-1)}{2})

= 6n - n(n+1)

replacing thevalue of n = 6 (i.e the sub interval number), we have:

= 6(6) - 6(6+1)

= 36 - 36 -6

= -6

Felix's washing machine uses 6 gallons of water. How much water does it use in liters? A gallon is approximately 3.79 liters. Ro
dlinn [17]

Answer:

22.74 liters

Step-by-step explanation:

GIven data

Felix's washing machine uses 6 gallons of water

we are told that  A gallon is approximately 3.79 liters

Hence if  a gallon is approximately 3.79 liters

then 6 gallons of water will be x liters

cross multiply we have

x= 6*3.79

x= 22.74 liters

Hence 6 gallon will be 22.74 liters

We are given a right triangle. We can use trig to find the missing angle.

<u>Step 2: Identify Variables</u>

<em>POV from angle x</em>

Angle = <em>x</em>

Adjacent = 16

Hypotenuse = 27

<u>Step 3: Solve for </u><em><u>x</u></em>

  1. Substitute:                    cosx° = 16/27
  2. Inverse:                         x° = cos⁻¹(16/27)
  3. Evaluate:                       x = 53.6588°
