Hello!!!

Your answer would in fact Be 24 the steps are super simple what may confuse you is the v it is quite confusing but v is basically a variable that signifies multiplication as it is together with the 4 but this here is an expression because it has nothing equal to it so we have no answer to define what the v is! Also a tip is whenever a number has parenthesis and a number is outside of the parentheses without any sign that signifies multiplication :)!! So as of now if your not learning how to find variable answers then you can basically pretend the v is not needed but have a nice day and I really hope this has helped you!! I have spent quite a while typing this so I hope this is all worth it!!

Answer:

a + b + c = \pi \\  =  > c=  \pi - a - b \\  <  =  >  \tan(c)  =  \tan(\pi - a - b)  =  -\tan(a + b)

Step-by-step explanation:

we have:

\tan(a)  +  \tan(b)  +  \tan(c)  \\  =  \tan(a)  +  \tan(b)  -  \tan(a + b)  \\  =  \tan( a)  +  \tan(b)  -  \frac{ \tan(a) +  \tan(b)  }{1 -  \tan(a)  \tan(b) }  \\  =  \frac{ ( \tan(a) +  \tan(b)  ) \tan(a) \tan(b)  }{ \tan(a) \tan(b)  - 1 } (1)

we also have:

\tan(a)  \tan(b)  \tan(c)  \\  =  -  \tan(a)  \tan(b)  \tan(a + b)  \\  =  \frac{ -(\tan( a  )   + \tan(b) ) \tan(a)  \tan(b) }{1 -  \tan(a)  \tan(b) }  \\  =  \frac{( \tan(a)  +  \tan(b)) \tan(a)   \tan(b) }{ \tan(a) \tan(b)  - 1 } (2)

from (1)(2) => proven

Help ^^^ use picture above

The question reminds you of all the tools you need:

It says ...

"Opposite angles are equal."
So the upper right angle is x+40 just like the bottom left,
and the bottom right angle is 3x+20 just like the upper left.

And it says ...

"The sum of all angles is 360°."
You know what each of the four angles is, so you can addum all up,
set the sum equal to 360, find out what number ' x ' is, and then
use that to find the size of every angle.

The answer is x = 8/5

Step-by-step explanation:

6 - 5x + 2 = 3x - 12 + 2x

4 - 5x = 5x - 12

4 = 10x - 12

16 = 10x

8/5 = x
