Every year we see an increase in Global warming and it is causing the ice glaciers to melt and temperatures to rise due to the people or the natural environment. Global Warming has been a problem for the world for some time now and scientists and NASA are trying to figure out what is causing global warming to rise. Is it us that is causing it or is it natural, the earth has been changed but not by us but by the variations of sunlight. But do we play a part in this too? I will be talking about what global warming is and why it has gotten worse over the years.
What is global warming? It is an unusually rapid increase in Earth's average surface temperature over the years due to greenhouse gases released by people burning fossil fuels and due to the variations of sunlight. Everyone wants to know if it is us that is causing global warming to increase or is it natural?. Throughout our time the earth has warmed and cooled time and time again, the climate changed when the planet received more or less sunlight due to the orbit. Now recently it has changed due to another force and that is humanity. According to studies from NASA “Scientists have high confidence that global temperatures will continue to rise for decades to come, largely due to greenhouse gases produced by human activities”. If this continues to keep happening our future will turn out to be bad because the temperatures will continue to rise. Frost-free season and growing season will lengthen if we keep emitting greenhouse gases like we do and not only that but we could have more droughts and heat waves. Some places already get them bad enough and with this adding on, some states will not be able to produce crops and not have enough water and this may lead to people leaving the area because there would be nothing good there. In more studies we can see hurricanes become much more stronger and more intense due to the climate getting warmer. For years we have been seeing the arctic melt and ice glaciers melting due to the climate getting warmer every year. In which the

arctic will become ice free before long according to NASA and that will cause the sea levels to rise 1-8 feet by 2100. With hurricanes getting worse and worse by the years this can cause major flooding and can wipe out certain regions in the world. If we can stop emitting a lot of greenhouse gases every single year we can reduce global warming and not have to worry about the future of our world. But we can’t do this alone; it will take everyone to help reduce climate change.
Not all of this is to blame on humans, the earth has gone through a lot of change throughout history. Earth’s climate has changed due to natural causes not related to humans and it has mostly changed due to the variations of the sunlight. “Tiny wobbles in Earth’s orbit altered when and where sunlight falls on Earth’s surface. Variations in the Sun itself have alternately increased and decreased the amount of solar energy reaching Earth”. A lot of change has been due to the sun and from the amount of solar energy reaching earth. Not only that but volcanic eruptions have played a big part as well. The volcanic eruptions generate particles in the atmosphere that reflect sunlight that brightens earth and cools the climate. In an article NASA has said this about volcanic eruptions “Volcanic activity has also, in the deep past, increased greenhouse gases over millions of years, contributing to episodes of global warming.”. Also with volcanoes erupting it warms the air due to its explosion heating up the atmosphere and releasing almost 60 million tons of CO2 per year. So not all of the climate change is on us but we are responsible for making it worse and not us doing anything about it. It will take all of us as a whole to fix this and get everything back to the way it was originally. We can’t help with the volcanoes and with the sun most of this is natural but we keep making it worse. Day by day we are ruining our own planet and soon enough it will be too late to fix.

In conclusion climate change or global warming has been a thing of millions of years but in more recent years it has gotten worse. If we don’t do something pretty soon we won’t have a normal everyday life, we would be dealing with terrible storms and our oceans will rise and wipe out regions. But I know one day we will fix this and we won’t have to worry about what our future may become very soon. A lot of this has been us and we have been making it worse every year and if we can reduce carbon emissions everyday we will be alright.

It’s a very serious issue that is deeply affecting the world. It needs to be worked on and many people can contribute to helping get climate under control again.
