East germany developed a
LUCKY_DIMON [66]

After the Second World War, Germany had been divided into two countries. One was the Federal Republic of Germany  also called West Germany. The other part was the German Democratic Republic, which was also called East Germany.

Explanation:

West Germany was democratic while east Germany was communist that means one party state. Gradually West Germany grew faster while east Germany made a slow progress. This led to emigration of Germans from east to weest. To stop the movement of people, East Germany had closed its borders and most of them who flee from east Germany were spied and were killed.

After many efforts to  stabilize east Germany, the borders were opened and efforts were focused to make east Germany into a democratic country.  Treaty on the Final Settlement with respect to Germany also called the Two Plus Four Treaty was signed by the two German states and the four allies resulted in reunification of east and west Germany into one.
