Christopher can paint the interior of his house in 15 hours. if he hires cynthia to help him they can do the same job together i
jenyasd209 [6]

If Christopher can paint his whole house in 15 hours, then he can get 1/15 of the job done in a single hour. If he hires Cynthia to help and they get the job done together (the sum of their efforts) in 9 hours, they can get 1/9 of the job done in a single hour. We are looking for how long Cynthia would take to do it on her own. Remember we are adding their efforts together and setting that equal to the total, so the equation is \frac{1}{15}+\frac{1}{x}=\frac{1}{9}. What we are going to do here, what makes the most sense in solving for x, is to move the term with x in it to the other side of the equation and move the 1/9 over by subtraction. \frac{1}{15}-\frac{1}{9}=-\frac{1}{x}. Of course before we can subtract those 2 fractions we need a common denominator, which happens to be 45: \frac{3}{45}-\frac{5}{45}=-\frac{1}{x} and -\frac{2}{45}=-\frac{1}{x}. We will cross multiply to get 2x = 45 and divide to find that it takes Cynthia 22.5 hours to do the job if she had to do it alone.

PLEASE HELP ASAP ! WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST Quadrilateral OPQR is inscribed inside a circle as shown below. What is the measure of a
finlep [7]

Answer:

The measure of angle P is 43°

Step-by-step explanation:

If a quadrilateral is inscribed inside a circle, the sum of opposite angles are always equal to 180 degrees.

The angle POR is opposite to the angle PQR, and the angle OPQ is opposite to the angle ORQ.

So we have that:

mOPQ + mORQ = 180°

y + 3y + 8 = 180

4y = 172

y = 43°

So the measure of angle P is 43°.

I actually don’t get this and I have a test in 2 days please help what is g(x) and how
nataly862011 [7]

first off, is noteworthy that's the graph of an exponential function, thus the function will be along the lines of g(x) = abˣ , now, what's "a" and "b" values?

well, let's take a peek when x = 0 and x = 1.

\bf g(x) = ab^x \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill\\\\ \begin{cases} x = 0\\ y = 1 \end{cases}\implies 1=ab^0\implies 1=a(1)\implies \boxed{1=a} \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill\\\\ \begin{cases} x = 1\\ y = 4 \end{cases}\implies 4 = ab^1\implies 4=1b^1\implies \boxed{4=b} \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill\\\\ ~\hfill g(x) = 4^x\qquad \qquad \qquad \begin{array}{|c|c|ll} \cline{1-2} x&y\\ \cline{1-2} -2&\frac{1}{4^2}\to \frac{1}{16}\\ -1&\frac{1}{4}\\ 0&1\\ 1&4\\ 2&16\\ \cline{1-2} \end{array}~\hfill

Solve the systems by the addition method x - 2y = - 4 2x + y = 7
vfiekz [6]
<h2>x - 2y = -4</h2><h2>2x + y = 7</h2><h2 />

To solve this system of equations by addition, our first goal is to cancel

out one of the variables by adding the two equations together.

However, if we add these two equations together right away, nothing

will cancel so we need to set things up so a variable will cancel.

Notice that we have an 2x in our second equation.

If we had a -2x in our first equation, then the x's would cancel out.

In order to create a -2x in the first equation, we simply

multiply both sides of the first equation by -2.

So we have (-2)(x - 2y) = (-4)(-2) which can be rewritten as -2x + 4y = 8.

Now rewrite both equations, as shown below.

<h2>-2x + 4y = 8</h2><h2>2x + y = 7</h2><h2 />

Now when we add the equations together, the x terms

will cancel out and we're left with 5y = 15.

Dividing both sides by 5, <em>y = 3</em>.

To solve for x, plug a 3 in for y in either one of our 2 original equations.

So let's go with our second equation.

Plugging a 3 in for y, we get 2x + (3) = 7.

Now subtract 4 from both sides to get 2x = 4.

Dividing both sides by 2, we fid that <em>x = 2</em>.

Since x = 2 and y = 3, our answer is the ordered pair (2, 3).
