Answer:

(a) the work done by the student is 110.1 J

(b) The gravitational force that acts on the amplifier is 102.9 N

Explanation:

Given;

mass of the amplifier, m = 10.5 kg

initial position of the amplifier, x₀ = 1.82 m

final position of the amplifier, x₁ =0.75 m

The dispalcement of the amplifier Δx = x₁ - x₀ = 1.82 m - 0.75 m = 1.07 m

(b) The gravitational force that acts on the amplifier;

F = mg

F = 10.5 x 9.8

F = 102.9 N

(a) the work done by the student is calculated as;

W = FΔx

W = 102.9 x 1.07

W = 110.1 J

The microwave in your kitchen operates at 2,358,000 Hz. If the speed of light is 300,000,000 m/s, what is the wave’s wavelength?
Novosadov [1.4K]

Answer:

wavelength = speeed / frequency

= 300,000,000 / 2358000

= 300 / 2.358

= 127.2 m

You push a heavy crate down a ramp at a constant velocity. Only four forces act on the crate. Which force does the greatest magn
Brilliant_brown [7]

The friction force does the greatest magnitude of work on the crate

Consider all four forces. The normal force does no work at all, since there is no motion in the direction of that force, perpendicular to the ramp. The force of gravity is smaller than the force of friction, since you still need to push the crate to get constant velocity. The force of you pushing is also smaller than the force of friction, since you are moving down a ramp, and are therefore assisted by gravity. Therefore the force doing greatest magnitude of work is the force of friction. Note that, even though the frictional work is negative, it still has the greatest magnitude

When light travels from air to water at an angle which of the following happens? a) The light slows down and it changes directio
beks73 [17]

Answer:

b) The light slows down and it changes direction towards the perpendicular.

Explanation:

Light travels at different speed in different mediums.

Refractive index is equal to velocity of the light 'c' in empty space divided by the velocity 'v' in the substance.

Or ,

n = c/v.

Light travels at a slower speed in water as compared to air because there are more number of interfering molecules in the path of the light in case of water as compared to liquid.

When a light travels from lower denser medium say water to higher denser medium say water, it bends towards the perpendicular as its speed reduces in that medium.

On an aircraft carrier, a jet can be catapulted from 0 to 240 km/h in 2.10 s. If the average force exerted by the catapult is 9.
Leya [2.2K]

Answer

The answer is 29495.3 kg

Explanation

As we know, the Newton's Second Law of Motion

Force = Mass * Acceleration

F = ma

The F exerted by catapult = 9.35 * 10^5

The Time is = 2.10 s

Velocity of the catapult = 240 km/h = 66.6 m/s (240*1000 m /3600 s)

The mass of jet = ?

First detrmine the acceleration as

{/tex}Acceleration = Velocity/Time {/tex}

Acceleration = 66.6 ms^{-1}/2.1 s

Acceleration (a) = 31.7 ms^{-2}

Rearrange the formaula as

m= F/a

m= 9.35 * 10^5 N /31.7 ms^{-2}

m = 29495.3 kg

The mass will be 29495.3 kg
