HOW TO DETERMINE SLOPE AND Y-INTERCEPT: Use the instructions below to answer this question.

EQUATION: y=\frac{-3}{4}x-3

-------------------------------------------------

INSTRUCTIONS:

FINDING THE Y-INTERCEPT:

Do this simply by finding the number your graph starts at on the Y-Axis (vertical line)! In this case, it's at -3!

FINDING SLOPE:

Remember that slope is rise over run (\frac{rise}{run})

RISE = How far the line goes up and down.

RUN = How far the line goes left or right.

HOW DO I FIND IT? All you have to do is count both rise and run from one point on the line to another! WARNING: The point must hit at a vertex, it cannot be counted if it is in the center of the box, or anywhere that does not touch the edge. I also suggest starting from the Y-Intercept and counting.

GOING LEFT OR DOWN: This is a positive number

GOING RIGHT OR UP: This is a negative number.

(You will see how this applies, below, yayyyy)

CALCULATING OUR NUMERATOR, AKA RISE:

Starting from the y, to get to the next point on the line, you can see we have to go down three. This means our numerator is -3!

CALCULATING OUR DENOMENATOR, AKA RUN:

Starting from where we just stopped, we must continue getting to the next point, and to do that, you can see we have to go to the right four! This means our denomenator is 4!

What are the missing sides and angles of this triangle? What is the area?
Butoxors [25]
This does not appear to be a right triangle. However, we know 2 sides and the included angle, so can find the unknown side length. Let x represent this length. Then:

x^2 = (9 m)^2 + (12 m)^2 - 2(9m)(12 m)*cos 30 degrees, or

x^2 = 81 + 144 - 216(sqrt(3) / 2). Please solve for x^2 and then solve the result for x, making sure to choose the positive value. The result will be the length of the side opposite the 30 degree angle.

With 1 of 3 angles known, and 3 of 3 sides known, you can use the Law of Sines to find the other two angles. As a reminder, the Law of Sines looks like this:

   a b c
-------- = --------- = ----------
sin A sin B sin C.

You can give the 30-deg angle any name you want; then a, the length of the side opposite the 30-deg angle, which you have just found. And so on.

What should you do first to simplify the expression (43 + 9) = 76 + 5? A) Add 4 and 9. B Add 76 and 5. © Multiply 4 x 4 x 4. D D
frutty [35]

Answer:

C

Opening the bracket is the first order in solving arithmetic from BODMAS but to do that in this case we need to add 4^3 and 9 which first requires us to find 4^3
