The effects of amphetamines are similar to the effects of cocaine, but are ____

Biology

Ber [7]3 years ago

but there are differences:

- Price: a heaver user of cocaine spends $100 to $300 per day, whereas a heavy user of amphetamine spends about $50-$100 a day

- Quality of the rush or high: smoking or injecting cocaine or meth IV produces an intense rush followed by a high or euphoria. The majority of users claim that the rush and the high from cocaine is greater than that from amphetamines, however amphetamines generate greater amounts of prolonged energy

-Duration of action: cocaine's major effects last about 40 minutes, while amphetamines last 4-6 hours

- Manufacture: cocaine is plant-derived and amphetamines are synthetic

- addiction rate: methamphetamine users fall into addiction more quickly than cocaine users and enter treatment sooner

Hope this helps!

State the role of mirror
kvv77 [185]

Answer:

Mirrors are essential to every home. They help us in our daily mundane lives, though we rarely ever really appreciate their usefulness. From the moment we get up at night to the time we ready ourselves for sleep, we almost always seek for a mirror to take a look at ourselves. Mirrors reflect to us how we look, how clothes fit us, and how things fit.

Let p = purple flowers and p = white, and t = tall plants and t = dwarf. if the uppercase letters represent the dominant alleles
sesenic [268]

If the uppercase letters represent the dominant alleles, purple flowers and tall are the phenotype of a plant with the genotype Pptt.

A gene can exist in different forms across organisms. These different forms are known as alleles.

The subsequent combination of alleles that an individual possesses for a specific gene is their genotype.

Examples of  genotype include:

  • Hair colour
  • Height
  • Shoe size
  • Eye colour

The sum of an organism’s observable characteristics is their phenotype. A key difference between phenotype and genotype is that, whilst genotype is inherited from an organism’s parents, the phenotype is not.

Whilst a phenotype is influenced the genotype, genotype does not equal phenotype. The phenotype is influenced by the genotype and factors including:

  • Epigenetic modifications
  • Environmental and lifestyle factors

Observing the phenotype is simple – we take a look at an organism’s outward features and characteristics, and form conclusions about them. Observing the genotype, however, is a little more complex.

Genotyping is the process by which differences in the genotype of an individual are analyzed using biological assays. The data obtained can then be compared against either a second individual’s sequence, or a database of sequences.
