Erosion is the mechanism by which weathered rock and soil move from one location to another through natural forces. Gravity, flowing water, glaciers, waves and wind are all responsible for erosion. Sediment is the material which is driven by erosion. Deposition occurs as sediment lays down by the agents (wind or water) of erosion.
