The action potential spreads through an axon by Group of answer choices depolarizing adjacent membrane to threshold, triggering
Step2247 [10]

The action potential spreads through an axon by depolarizing adjacent membrane to threshold.

  • K+ departs the cell after Na+, which enters the cell first. Ions can move freely across the axon membrane because of the difference during the action potential.
  • Because sodium contains a positive charge, the neuron becomes more positive and depolarized. Potassium channels take longer to open. As soon as the cell does open, K+ rushes out, reversing the depolarization known as repolarization.
  • Sodium channels close during the peak of the action potential when potassium leaves the cell. When potassium ions are effluxed, the membrane potential is lowered or the cell becomes hyperpolarized.
  • Outside of the cell, the concentration of Na+ is greater than inside the cell. while the concentration of K+ is  is greater inside the cell than outside.

Identify the landmark that is not part of the sphenoid bone.
seraphim [82]

The landmark that is not part of the sphenoid bone is Olfactory foramina

Sphenoid bone is are bone that  can be found  at the central  of the human skull and they are made up of  cranial bones  which are bones that help to protect the human brain from injury.

Olfactory foramina is not part of sphenoid bone because  they are hollow space that is found in the cribriform plate.

This hollow space made it possible for the sensory nerves to pass through the  human nasal cavity which in turn help to transport information from the olfactory receptors to the brain.

Inconclusion the landmark that is not part of the sphenoid bone is Olfactory foramina.

Leaves of green plants contain openings known as stomates, which are opened and closed by specialized cells allowing for gas exc
tamaranim1 [39]

Answer:

Carbon dioxide moves in; oxygen moves out

Explanation:

The pigment that offers the green pigmentation for green plants is known as Chlorophyll. On the surface of the leaves on green plants are microscopic openings known as Stomata in the epidermis of leaves. Stomata are generally more numerous on the underside of leaves. They provide for the exchange of gases between the outside air and the branched system of interconnecting air canals within the leaf.

On a sunny day, The concentration of carbon dioxide in the air is a regulator of stomata opening in many plants. The stomata opens (then  Carbon dioxide moves in and in-turn releases oxygen after photosynthetic activities has taken place) and closes in response to the internal pressure of two sausage-shaped guard cells that surround it. The inner wall of a guard cell is thicker than the outer wall.

The main function of these Guard cells  are to control excessive water loss, closing on hot, dry, or windy days and opening when conditions are more favourable for gas exchange.

The following statements can be classified as describing only a hypothesis, only a theory, or both. Look at the following answer
otez555 [7]

Answer: C.) Prediction, tentative, one or more scientists working together.

Explanation:

The prediction, tentative, one or more scientists working together is the correct option which describes a hypothesis. This is because of the fact that an hypothesis is an presumed statement of facts which is required to be tested by using suitable methodology. Scientists basically base their scientific hypothesis keeping in mind the previous theories or observation which were not proved satisfactorily earlier or exhibit some doubtful facts which are taken important for verification.
