First of all, I'd suggest that you use a new, clean, blank line for every bit of new information.

-1/4 divided by 3/2 = -4/1 times 3/2     Do NOT insert another " = " sign here, but move on to a new line.

"<span>-1/4 divided by 3/2 = -4/1 times 3/2 =-12/2 = -6"

You are dividing -1/4 by 3/2.  To do this, invert 3/2 and then multiply:

-1       2
---- * ---- = -1/6
 4        3

Notice how I have only ONE " = " sign here.</span>

Answer:

y=3/2x+3

Step-by-step explanation:

the line hits the y-axis at 3 so b=3 and the change in y is up 3 and the change in x is to the right 2 so the change in y over the change in x is 3/2

How can I simplify/rewrite the 1st(top) equation into the 2nd(Botton),please show a step by step solution.
Vaselesa [24]

Answer:

see below

Step-by-step explanation:

-2(4 - \frac{x}{2} )^{5} + C

Think of the above as:

  -\frac{2}{1} * (\frac{8}{2} - \frac{x}{2} )^{5} + C

= -\frac{2}{1} * \frac{(8 - x)^{5}}{2^{5}}  + C

= -\frac{2}{1} * \frac{(8 - x)^{5}}{32}  + C

= -\frac{1}{1} * \frac{(8 - x)^{5}}{16}  + C

=   \frac{-1(8 - x)^{5}}{16}  + C

=   \frac{(-8 + x)^{5}}{16}  + C

Can flip it around to be...

\frac{(x - 8)^{5}}{16}  + C

Diagram below shows the curve of a quadratic function
uranmaximum [27]

Answer:

q = -8, k = 2.

r = -6.

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) = (x - p)^2 + q

This is the vertex form of a quadratic where the vertex is at the point (p, q).

Now the x intercepts are at -6 and 2 and the curve is symmetrical about the line x = p.

The value of p is the midpoint of  -6 and 2 which is (-6+2) / 2 = -2.

So we have:

f(x) = 1/2(x - -2)^2 + q

f(x) = 1/2(x + 2)^2 + q

Now the graph passes through the point (2, 0) , where it intersects the x axis, therefore, substituting x = 2 and f(x) = 0:

0 = 1/2(2 + 2)^2 + q

0 = 1/2*16 + q

0 = 8 + q

q = -8.

Now convert this to standard form to find k:

f(x) = 1/2(x + 2)^2 - 8

f(x) = 1/2(x^2 + 4x + 4) - 8

f(x) = 1/2x^2 + 2x + 2 - 8

f(x) = 1/2x^2 + 2x - 6

So k = 2.

The  r  is the y coordinate when x = 0.

so r = 1/2(0+2)^2 - 8

=  -6.
