False, from what i know vectors tell us about direction and magnitude. not weight and direction

It’s false because vectors doesn’t tell us two things about force weight and direction

Answer:

                     1. 10.66 moles of Al

                     2.  2.5 moles of Al₂O₃

                     3. 143.87 g of SO₂

Explanation:

                    The balance chemical equation is as follow,

                                      4 Al + 3 O₂ → 2 Al₂O₃

1.

According to balance chemical equation,

                       3 moles of O₂ required = 4 moles of Al

So,

                     8 moles of O₂ will require = X moles of Al

Solving for X,

                      X =  8 mol × 4 mol / 3 mol

                      X =  10.66 moles of Al

2.

According to balance chemical equation,

                       4 moles of Al produced = 2 moles of Al₂O₃

So,

                     5 moles of Al will produce = X moles of Al₂O₃

Solving for X,

                      X =  5 mol × 2 mol / 4 mol

                      X =  2.5 moles of Al₂O₃

3.

The balance chemical equation for the oxidation of carbon disulfide is as follow;

                                CS₂ + 3 O₂ → CO₂ + 2 SO₂

Step 1: Calculate Moles of CS₂ as;

                  Moles  =  Mass / M.Mass

                  Moles  =  85.5 g / 76.14 g/mol

                  Moles = 1.12 moles of CS₂

Step 2: Find out moles of SO₂ as;

According to balance chemical equation,

                       1 mole of CS₂ produced = 2 moles of SO₂

So,

                     1.12 moles of CS₂ will produce = X moles of SO₂

Solving for X,

                      X =  1.12 mol × 2 mol / 1 mol

                      X =  2.24 moles of SO₂

Step 3: Calculate Mass of SO₂ as;

                  Mass  =  Moles × M.Mass

                  Mass  =  2.24 mol × 64.06 g/mol

                  Mass  =  143.87 g of SO₂

The following balanced equation describes the reduction of iron(III) oxide to molten iron within a blast furnace: Fe2O3(s) + 3CO
Irina-Kira [14]

Answer:

Amount of excess Carbon (ii) oxide left over = 23.75 g

Explanation:

Equation of the reaction: Fe₂O₃ + 3CO ----> 2Fe + 3CO₂

Molar mass of Fe₂O₃ = 160 g/mol;

Molar mass of Carbon (ii) oxide = 28 g/mol

From the equation of reaction, 1 mole of Fe₂O₃ reacts with 3 moles of carbon (ii) oxide; i.e. 160 g of iron (iii) oxide reacts with 84 g (3 * 28 g) of carbon (ii) oxide

450 g of Fe₂O₃ will react with 450 * 84/180) g of carbon (ii) oxide = 236..25 g of carbon (ii) oxide

Therefore the excess reactant is carbon (ii) oxide.

Amount of excess Carbon (ii) oxide left over = 260 - 236.25

Amount of excess Carbon (ii) oxide left over = 23.75 g

if the mass of 191 grams NaCl reacted with 74 frams of calcium hydroxide and 80 grams of sodium hydroxide is produced, what mass
nadya68 [22]

Answer:

110.98 g/mol

Explanation:

The reaction between NaCl and Ca(OH)₂ is given by the equation;

2NaCl(aq) + Ca(OH)₂(s) → 2NaOH(aq) + CaCl₂(aq)

We are required to determine the mass of CaCl₂ produced,

We will use the following simple steps;

Step 1: Moles of NaCl and Ca(OH)₂ given

Number of moles = Mass ÷ Molar mass

Moles of NaCl

Mass of NaCl = 191 g

Molar mass NaCl = 58.44 g/mol

Number of moles = 191 g ÷ 58.44 g/mol

                             = 3.268 moles

                             = 3.27 Moles

Moles of Ca(OH)₂

Mass of Ca(OH)₂ = 74 g

Molar mass of Ca(OH)₂ = 74.093 g/mol

Number of moles = 74 g ÷ 74.093 g/mol

                             = 0.998 mole

                              = 1.0 mole

However, from the equation 2 moles of NaCl requires 1 mole of Ca(OH)₂

Therefore, from the amount of reactants available NaCl was in excess and Ca(OH)₂ is the limiting reactant .

Step 2: Moles of CaCl₂ produced

From the equation

1 mole of Ca(OH)₂ reacts with NaCl to produce 1 mole of CaCl₂

Therefore; the mole ratio of Ca(OH)₂ to CaCl₂ is 1: 1

Thus;

Moles of CaCl₂ produced is 1.0 moles

Step 3: Mass of CaCl₂ produced

Moles of CaCl₂ = 1.0 mole

Molar mass CaCl₂ = 110.98 g/mol

But; mass = number of moles × Molar mass

Therefore;

Mass of CaCl₂ = 1.0 mole × 110.98 g/mol

                       = 110.98 g CaCl₂
