If m(x) = x+5/x-1 and n(x) = x — 3, have the same domain as (m • n) (x)
Yuri [45]

For this case we have the following functions:

m (x) = \frac {x + 5} {x-1}\\n (x) = x-3

By definition we have to:

(f * g) (x) = f (x) * g (x)

So:

(m * n) (x) = m (x) * n (x)\\(m * n) (x) = \frac {x + 5} {x-1} (x-3)\\(m * n) (x) = \frac {(x + 5) (x-3)} {x-1}

By definition, the domain of a function is given by the values for which the function is defined.

The domain of m(x) is given by all reals except 1.

The domain of n(x) is given by all reals.

While the domain of (m * n) (x) is given by:

All reals, except the 1. With x = 1, the denominator is 0 and the function is no longer defined.

Answer:

Domain of(m * n) (x) is given by all reals except 1.

Answer:

Volume of Cone =

= \frac{1}{3}\pi (2)^2 (4)\\\\=\frac{1}{3}(3.14)(4)(4)\\\\=\frac{1}{3}\times 3.14\times 16 \\\\=\frac{1}{3}\times50.24\\\\=16.746\\\\\approx16.75 \texttt {ft} ^3

Thus, Volume = 16.75 cubic feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of a cone is given by the formula

V=\frac{1}{3}\pi r^2 h

Where r is the radius and

h is the height

Given radius r = 2 and

height is 2 times that.

So height is 2*2 = 4

Plugging these into the formula we get:

Volume of Cone =

= \frac{1}{3}\pi (2)^2 (4)\\\\=\frac{1}{3}(3.14)(4)(4)\\\\=\frac{1}{3}\times 3.14\times 16 \\\\=\frac{1}{3}\times50.24\\\\=16.746\\\\\approx16.75 \texttt {ft} ^3

Thus, Volume = 16.75 cubic feet

A supervisor finds the mean number of miles that the employees in a department live from work. Which mileage is within a z-score
Vikentia [17]
The z-score tells you how many standard deviations from the mean.

<span>1.5 * 3.6 = 5.4 miles </span>

<span>So anything within 5.4 miles of the average (29). </span>

<span>The range would be: </span>
<span>29 - 5.4 = 23.6 </span>
<span>to: </span>
<span>29 + 5.4 = 34.4 </span>

<span>23.6 ≤ x ≤ 34.4 </span>

<span>Answer: </span>
<span>B) 24 miles</span>

Can anybody help me?
lakkis [162]

You know that 6x+3 equals 45 because the two sides are equal. So you first put the equation 6x+3=45. Then you use the subtraction property of equality and subtract 3 from both sides. This gives you 6x=42. Then you divide 6 from both sides to get you final answer, x=7
