How do ocean currents affect temperature? Check all that apply
zlopas [31]

Answer:

Ocean currents are the continuous, predictable, directional movement of seawater driven by gravity, wind (Coriolis Effect), and water density. Ocean water moves in two directions: horizontally and vertically. Horizontal movements are referred to as currents, while vertical changes are called upwellings or downwellings. They carry cold water from the poles to the equator and cool air over land.  They move warm water from the equator to the poles and heat air over land.

Explanation:

They carry cold water from the poles to the equator and cool air over land.  They move warm water from the equator to the poles and heat air over land.

What process occurs in Box A?
SIZIF [17.4K]

Answer:

The process occurring in Box A is Glycolysis

Explanation:

Glycolysis is the pathway by which glucose, a six-carbon molecule is oxidized to molecules of pyruvate, a three-carbon molecule with the release of ATP and electrons which are carried by NADH molecules.

The process occurs in the cytoplasm of cells and requires 10 glycolytic enzymes.

The pyruvate molecules from glycolysis is first oxidized to acetyl-CoA and carbon dioxide molecules. The acetyl-CoA molecules enter the citric acid cycle occurring in the mitochondria and are used up in the production of  ATP, CO2, and electrons carried by NADH and FADH2.

The electrons carried by NADH and FADH2 from glycolysis and citric acid cycle are used in the oxidative phosphorylation pathway occurring inside the mitochondrion for transformation of oxygen molecules into water molecules with release of ATP.

If the objective lenses of a microscope can be changed without losing focus on the specimen, they are said to be ______. A) equi
aleksandr82 [10.1K]

Answer:

C) parfocal.

Explanation:

A microscope can be defined as an optical device that is typically used to make an enlarged (magnified) image of a minute (small) object and as such reveals all the little information about the object that cannot be seen by the natural human eye.

A microscope is said to be parfocal if its lense is binocular and they can both be in focus.

Hence, if the objective lenses of a microscope can be changed without losing focus on the specimen, they are said to be parfocal.
