How does crossing over add to the genetic diversity of sexually reproducing organisms?
neonofarm [45]
Crossover is the first way that genes are shuffled to give rise to genetic diversity. Crossover takes place in sexual reproduction. Chromosomes line up side by side and break off pieces of themselves, then trade those pieces with each other. When they break at the same place (locus) in the sequence of base pairs, the result is an exchange of genes called genetic recombination. That is the normal way for crossover to occur. Genetic recombination ensures that the daughter cells produced have a different genetic makeup from the parent cell and thus diversity is created.

How will temperature affect the rate of photosynthesis? Write hypothesis here. (Be sure to relate how rare of photosynthesis wil
balandron [24]

Explanation:

The rate of photosynthesis increases withe increase in temperature. Photosynthesis like any other chemical reaction responds positively to an increase in temperature.

At high temperatures, enzymes that takes part in the photosynthesis can be destroyed. This is 20°C where enzymes are usually denatured.

 • Photosynthesis is the process where green plants manufacture their food using inorganic substances from the environment.
 • During photosynthesis, plants combines carbon dioxide with water and produces organic molecules and oxygen.
 • Like any other chemical reaction, the reaction will proceed faster with an increase in temperature.

Hypothesis: If temperature is increased then the rate of evolution of oxygen gas increases because the rate of chemical reactions increases with increase in temperature.

Since oxygen is a by product of photosynthesis, we can quantify its rate of production as temperature increases.

The episome in an Hfr strain is inserted near the trp (tryptophan operon) locus. This Hfr strain is grown with an F- Trp- strain
Mekhanik [1.2K]

Answer:

It is a typical Hfr mating, as trp gene is very closed to F plasmid, the Hfr bacteria donates its trp gene along with F plasmid and then process is disturbed.
