Answer:

1. Gene drive.

2. Consensus.

3. Clones.

4. Coverage.

5. Pharmacogenomics.

6. Sanger sequencing.

7. Sequence assembly.

Explanation:

Genetics can be defined as the scientific study of hereditary in living organisms such as humans, animals and plants.

Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is an organic complex-molecular structure found in all living organisms. It comprises of genes and is essentially the foundation block of all living organisms such as humans, animals and plants.

The human somatic cell is made up of 46 chromosomes which are sub-divided into 22 pairs of autosomes and a pair of sex chromosomes (X and Y). An autosome is one of the numbered chromosome that is typically not a sex chromosome.

On the other hand, sex chromosomes (X and Y) are responsible for determining the gender or sex of living organisms such as humans.

The various terminologies used in the field of genetics and their respective description are matched below;

1. Gene drive: self-propagating mechanism by which a desired genetic variant can be spread through a population faster than traditional Mendelian inheritance.

2. Consensus: likely sequence of a piece of DNA.

3. Clones: replicated pieces or fragments of DNA.

4. Coverage: the number of unique reads that include a given nucleotide in the reconstructed DNA sequence.

5. Pharmacogenomics: study of how genes affect a person’s response to particular drugs.

6. Sanger sequencing: original method for determining the nucleotide sequence of DNA, also called "chain termination method."

7. Sequence assembly: aligning the sequenced fragments from a longer DNA sequence in order to reconstruct the original sequence.

What type of membrane provides lubrication to the pleural, pericardial, and peritoneal cavities?
jenyasd209 [6]

Answer;

-Serous membrane

Explanation;

-Serous membranes are thin membranes that lines the internal body cavities and organs such as the heart, lungs, and abdominal cavity. The thin membrane is made up of mesothelium tissue which originates from the mesoderm.

-These membranes consists of a single layer of flattened mesothelial cells applied to the surface of a thin layer of collagenous tissue that attaches to underlying endothoracic/transversalis fascia. They function to preclude adhesions among organs, thereby allowing organs to move freely relative to one another.

Match each type of cell junction with its description.
Ne4ueva [31]

Answer:

Tight junctions - prevent liquid from seeping between cells

Desmosomes - act as rivets to hold adjacent cells together when epithelial tissue moves

Gap junctions - allow movement of cytosol, ions, and small molecules between animal cells

Plasmodesmata - openings through the cell walls of plant cells that allow adjacent cells to share materials

Explanation:

1) Tight junctions are one of the cell junctions found in animal cells. Tight junctions function to prevent the flow of liquid materials between cells.

2) Desmosomes are another type of cell junctions whose function is to form a connection between two adjacent cells. The structure formed by this connection confers strength upon the tissues involved.

3) Gap junctions are the most commonly found cell junctions found in animal cells that connects adjacent cells allowing the passage of cytosol, ions and other small molecules in them from one adjacent cell to another.

4) Plasmodesmata is a cell junction found in plant cells. They are small openings lying across the cell wall of plant cells whose function is to connect the cells and facilitate the movement of materials from one cell to another.

How the population environment and health are related with different aspects? Elaborate
lesya692 [45]

Answer:

The aspects of that natural resources like air, water, soil etc aspects include the existence,these aspects of population health and environment.

Explanation:

Population environment and the health is to the approach human development to conservation, health, population is the deep relationship that not only related to each other.

population environment or health is the process can perform effect of population growth in health and environment aspects, other hand population controlled balanced a environment, produce healthy people.

Biological aspect :- health and population are related with the biological aspects of that environment, health, and population aspects of environment related to each other.

Social aspects:- social and cultural aspects like to the festivals, tradition living standards  aspects environment, population and health are related each other.

Physical aspect:- the development construction bridge,canals, industries that are physical environment, these aspect interrelated health and population.

Economic aspect :- economic aspect is reflected by the health of the people,resources like water, plants, land.

Compare and contrast populations and communities
zloy xaker [14]
A population is essentially just a collection of all living things in one category. People are one population, insects are another, etc. Communities are "more organized" populations. Soccer players hang out with soccer players, spiders hang out with spiders. We split into "our people" within our population.

I know that may be a little confusing, but if you have anymore questions feel free to ask. I hope I was able to help. Best of luck!
