A) 25% of males preferred playing sports.

Explanation) .25 is the same is 25%.

B) 25% of the people surveyed preferred reading a book.

Explanation) You have to add up how many males and females rather
                      to read a book.  It's .10 + .15 =  25%.

C) 70 females were surveyed out of 200 people.

Explanation)  Add up .15 + .5 + .15 to get .35.  Put .35 multiplied by 200 to                            get 70.

The dimensions of a storage container in the shape of a rectangular prism are 54 in x 32.25 in x 24.5 in. Choose True or False f
AlladinOne [14]

GIVEN

the dimensions ofrectangular prism are

length = 54 in

breadth = 32.25in

height = 24.5 in

formula

volume of the rectangular prism = length×breadth×height

                                                   = 54 ×32.25×24.5

                                                   = 42997.5 in³

first statement is false because the volume of the rectangular prism in two significant digit.

Second statement is false because the volume of the rectangular prism in two significant digit.

FORMULA

surface area of a rectangular prism = 2(wl+hl+hw)

by putting the value of the length , breadth & height

we get

= 2 (54×32.25 + 32.25×24.5 + 24.5×54)

= 7709.25 in²

= 7709.3 in²(approx)

Third statement is true the surface area of the container is rounded  to ones place.

Hence proved

Answer:

1)  $0.18 - rounded

   $0.18125 - original answer

2) $2.70

Step-by-step explanation:

For first equation:

1. Divide $1.45 by 8.

2. Get $0.18125

3. Round to $0.18

For second equation:

1. Multiply the amount of bananas (15) by how much they are ($0.18)

          15 X $0.18 = $2.7

2. Get answer: You pay $2.70 for 15 bananas.

Complete Question

The complete question is shown on the first uploaded image

Answer:

a

   C

b

    C

c

    C

d

     A

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we are told that

    The population mean is  \mu  =  0.5 \  in

Generally the Null hypothesis is  H_o  :  \mu = 0. 5 \ in

                The Alternative hypothesis is  H_a  :  \mu  \ne  0.5 \ in

Considering the parameter given for part a

       The sample size is  n =  15

        The  test statistics is  t =  1.66

        The level of significance \alpha  =  0.05

The degree of freedom is evaluated as

            df =  n-  1

           df =  15-  1

           df =  14

Using the critical value calculator at (social science statistics web site )

           t_{\frac{\alpha}{2} ,df } =  t_{\frac{0.05 }{2} ,14} =  2.145

We are making use of this  t_{\frac{\alpha }{2} } because it is a one-tail test

Looking at the value of  t and t_{\frac{\alpha }{2} } the we see that  t < t_{\frac{\alpha }{2} } so the null hypothesis would not be rejected

Considering the parameter given for part b

       The sample size is  n =  15

        The  test statistics is  t =  -1.66

        The level of significance \alpha  =  0.05

The degree of freedom is evaluated as

            df =  n-  1

           df =  15-  1

           df =  14

Using the critical value calculator at (social science statistics web site )

           t_{\frac{\alpha}{2} ,df } =  t_{\frac{0.05 }{2} ,14} =  -2.145

Looking at the value of  t and t_{\frac{\alpha}{2} ,df } the we see that t does not lie in the area covered by  t_{\frac{\alpha}{2} , df } (i.e the area from -2.145 downwards on the normal distribution curve ) hence we fail to reject the null hypothesis

Considering the parameter given for part  c

       The sample size is  n =  26

        The  test statistics is  t =  -2.55

        The level of significance \alpha  =  0.01

The degree of freedom is evaluated as

            df =  n-  1

           df =  26-  1

           df =  25

Using the critical value calculator at (social science statistics web site )

           t_{\frac{\alpha}{2} ,df } =  t_{\frac{0.01 }{2} ,25} =  2.787

Looking at the value of  t and t_{\frac{\alpha }{2} } the we see that t does not lie in the area covered by  t_{\alpha , df } (i.e the area from -2.787 downwards on the normal distribution curve ) hence we fail to reject the null hypothesis

Considering the parameter given for part  d

       The sample size is  n =  26

        The  test statistics is  t =  -3.95

        The level of significance \alpha  =  0.01

The degree of freedom is evaluated as

            df =  n-  1

           df =  26-  1

           df =  25

Using the critical value calculator at (social science statistics web site )

           t_{\frac{\alpha}{2} ,df } =  t_{\frac{0.01 }{2} ,25} =  -2.787

Looking at the value of  t and t_{\frac{\alpha}{2} } the we see that  t  lies in the area covered by  t_{\alpha , df } (i.e the area from -2.787 downwards on the normal distribution curve ) hence we  reject the null hypothesis
