I am going to do this problem with more of an algebraic approach weather or not its the way your teacher wants you to do it like this.

The way to do things algebraically is to just set variables for what you want to find and set up equations to represent each sentence.

As seen there are hamburgers and chickens in this problem. So let's set the numbers of hamburgers to x, and the numbers of chickens to y.

Now write out each sentence using variables.

1.) Tia sold 78 hamburgers and chicken tenders.

x+y=78

2.) If she sold 24 more hamburgers than chicken tenders.

x=y+24

Now that we have the 2 equations, its time to solve.

Since we have x=y+24, we can replace the x in the first equation with the second equation

y+24+y=78

2y+24=78

Now we can subtract 24 from both sides.

2y=54

Simplify

y=27

Solve for x

x=27+24=51

Done!

Yakvenalex [24]
ANSWER:
7 \frac{1}{5}+p+4 \frac{9}{10}+3 \frac{3}{20} =19 \frac{1}{10} \\ 7 \frac{4}{20}+p+4 \frac{18}{20} + 3 \frac{3}{20}=19 \frac{2}{20}  \\ p=19 \frac{2}{20}- (7 \frac{4}{20}+4 \frac{18}{20} + 3 \frac{3}{20})  \\ p=19 \frac{2}{20}-15 \frac{5}{20} \\ p=3\frac{17}{20}

Jonathon has a bag that contains exactly one red marble (r), one yellow marble (y), and one green marble (g). He chooses a marbl
wariber [46]

Answer:

          [ry, yr, gy, yg, rg, gr]-Any three picks from this sample space.

Step-by-step explanation:

-The bag contains exactly 1r, \ 1y, \ 1g \ marbles.

-He picks one ball without looking, and chooses a second ball without replacing the first:

  • If the first is red, the the second is either yellow or green,
  • If the first is a yellow, then the second can be red or green,
  • If the first is green, then the second can be a red or yellow.

The sample space of the second pick is therefore:

                               [ry, yr, gy, yg, rg, gr]

Hence, any three picks from the sample space are correct possible outcomes.

Which are the solutions of x2 = –7x – 8?
vovangra [49]

Answer:

The solutions are:

x_1=\frac{-7+\sqrt{17}}{2}     x_2=\frac{-7-\sqrt{17}}{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

We have the following quadratic equation

x^2 = -7x - 8

We can rewrite the equation as follows

x^2+7x + 8=0

Now we use the quadratic formula to solve the equation

For an equation of the form ax ^ 2 + bx + c = 0 the quadratic formula is:

x=\frac{-b\±\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}

In this case:

a=1,\ b=7,\ c=8

Then:

x=\frac{-7\±\sqrt{7^2-4(1)(8)}}{2(1)}

x=\frac{-7\±\sqrt{49-32}}{2}

x=\frac{-7\±\sqrt{17}}{2}

x_1=\frac{-7+\sqrt{17}}{2}

x_2=\frac{-7-\sqrt{17}}{2}
