Tatiana wants to give friendship bracelets to her 32 classmates. She already has 5 bracelets, and she can buy
Aloiza [94]

4p+5=32 or 7 packages

I got this because there are 4 bracelets in one package and she doesn't know how many packages she needs so we put p for packages next to the 4 and you already have 5 so you add the 5 to it, all of that should come out to 32. If the equation wasn't what you were looking for you subtract 5 from 32 and get 27, then you divide 4 by 27 and you get 6.75, then you round it up and you get 7. The number of packages she needs is 7.

Two similar polygons have areas of 50 and 100 sq. in. Find the ratio of the length of a pair of corresponding sides.
Ainat [17]
In the case that you presented, the ratio is

50/100 = (x1)^2 / (x2)^2
1/2 = (x1)^2 / (x2)^2

x1 : x2 = 1 : √2

^2 means squared

The price of a pair of jeans at a store increased by 25% to $40. Find the price of the pair of jeans before the increase.
VARVARA [1.3K]
We can display this as an algebraic equation:

x * 1.25 = 40

Now divide by 1.25

x = 40/1.25
x = 32

What is 4 2/7 ⋅ 2 1/5 ?
Vikki [24]

Answer: 9 and 3/7

Step-by-step explanation: To multiply a mixed number by a mixed number, we first want to write each mixed number as an improper fraction.

We can write a mixed number as an improper fraction by multiplying the denominator by the whole number and adding the numerator.

We can change 4\frac{2}{7} to the improper fraction 30/7.

We can also change 2\frac{1}{5} to the improper fraction 11/5.

Now, we are simply multiplying fractions. To multiply fractions, we multiply across the numerators and multiply across the denominators. When we multiply these fractions, we will end up with the fraction 330/35. Since 330/35 is not in lowest terms, we need to divide both the numerator and denominator by the greatest common factor of 330 and 35 which is 5 and we will get the improper fraction 66/7.

Notice however that 66/7 can be changed into a mixed number by dividing the denominator which is 7 into the numerator which is 66.

66 divided by 7 equals 9 with a remainder of 3 so we can write 66/7 as the mixed number 9 and 3/7.

Therefore, 4 and 2/7 × 2 and 1/5 = 9 and 3/7
