When we say southwest, we refer to the direction of the spider by which it is directly 45° downward in Quadrant III. In other words, it is 225° from the positive x-axis. The values are obtained by multiplying the given radius by the sine and cosine of the angle. 
                                   x-coordinate = (3 cm)(cosine 225°) = -2.12 cm
                                   y-coordinate = (3 cm)(sine 225°) = -2.12 cm
Therefore, the coordinate of the spider is,
                              (-2.12, -2.12)
