Deforestation- "The action of clearing a wide area of trees."

The growth of human population would require more homes and resources for everyone. The more the population grows, the more resources required. Forests will be cut down and burned due to the need of more homes and food.

Which of the following statements concerning complex multicellular organisms is true?- Plants and animals use bulk transport sys
Minchanka [31]

Answer:

The true statement concerning complex multi-cellular organism is Bulk transport systems move substances faster than simple diffusion.

Explanation:

Bulk transport is the mechanism that is used by the cells to transport the large quantity of small and tiny molecules and particles. Bulk transport works on the mechanism of pressure gradient and single diffusion is based on the concentration gradient.

The transportation on single diffusion is due to random motion of molecules but in bulk transport the solute and water is moved together and in a faster pace.

With adequate hydration, what is the expected approximate, normal daily urine production of an adult?
kicyunya [14]

Answer:

With sufficient hydration of about 2liters daily, the normal urine volume expected of an adult is between 800-2000 milliliters

Explanation:

The normal range of fluid required by an adult is 2 liters daily. Urine is produced by the kidney and it account for the largest volume of water leaving the body.

The kidneys adjust the volume of urine ejected based on the body's water requirements; if the body is dehydrated, less urine is ejected and if there is sufficient or excessive hydration, more water is excreted as urine.

Which choice best describes the antimicrobial activities in the mouth?
kykrilka [37]

The antimicrobial activities in the mouth are hydrochloric acid denatures proteins and killing many microbes.

The capability of an hydrochloric acid activating pathogen-killing compounds is not a part of insect immunity,There has recently been an increase in interest in trehalose metabolism for therapeutic applications due to trehalose's relevance in numerous pathogenic species. The most significant biosynthetic process is the enzyme TPP (trehalose-6-phosphate phosphatase) (OtsAB).

Here, five important nematode and bacterial pathogens' recombinant TPPs, including three new members of this protein family, are compared for their enzyme characteristics.

The kinetics of the hydrolysis of trehalose-6-phosphate show that all five enzymes display burst-like kinetic behaviour, which is characterised by a decrease in enzymatic rate beyond the pre-steady state.

The observed super-stoichiometric burst amplitudes can be explained by many global conformational changes that occur in members of this enzyme family during substrate processing.

Cross bridge formation between myosin heads and actin molecules is caused by the elevation of calcium ion concentration in the c
almond37 [142]

Answer:

sarcoplasmic reticulum deteriorates and ATP production is stopped

Explanation:

Rigor mortis is the third stage of death characterized by stiffening of joints and muscles in body. The stiffening occurs because muscles are not able to return to the relaxed state. There are two reasons for rigor mortis, depletion of ATP and increase in calcium concentration in cytosol. Due to these factors the actin-myosin crossbridge is not able to break and the muscles remain in contracted state.

Sarcoplasmic reticulum deteriorates and calcium is released into the cytosol. Sarcolemma ( covering of muscle fiber ) also breaks down releasing extra calcium into the cytosol. Calcium is responsible for formation of actin-myosin cross bridge and when its concentration increases the bridge is formed continuously leading to stiffening of muscles and joints.
