7 0

Answer:

7

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this, we have to work backwards. If you divide something by 9, and it equals 5, to figure out the number, we need to multiply by 9. 5*9= 45. If four was taken away, we have to add it to 45, which is 49. If a number *7 is 49, then we have to divide by 7 to get the answer. 49/7=7

Elaine has invested $575 in a stock that is expected to double every 8 years. What will be the value of the stock in 16 years?
Sloan [31]
The correct option is D.
The initial value of the stock is $575 and it doubles every 8 years, this means that, in the next eight year the value of the stock will be 2 * 575 = $1150.
This amount too will double in the next eight year and the value will become 2* 1150 = $2,300.
Therefore, in 16 years time the share will be worth $2,300.00.

7.) Plumbers earn $160 a day and plumbers' helpers earn $100 a day. Twenty
9966 [12]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

p and h are number of plumbers and helpers, respectively.

Twenty workers earn a total of $2600

p+h = 20

h = 20-p

160p + 100h = 2600

160p + 100(20-p) = 2600

60p = 600

p = 10

h = 20-p = 10

Ten plumbers and ten helpers.

The ratio of a to b is 3 to 1, and the ratio of b to c is 1 to 5. What is the value of 2a+3b/ 4b+3c?
Nostrana [21]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

Expressing the ratios as fractions, that is

\frac{a}{b} = \frac{3}{1} ( cross- multiply )

a = 3b

\frac{b}{c} = \frac{1}{5} ( cross- multiply )

c = 5b

------------------------------------------

Given

\frac{2a+3b}{4b+3c} , substitute values from above for a and c

= \frac{2(3b)+3b}{4b+3(5b)}

= \frac{6b+3b}{4b+15b}

= \frac{9b}{19b} ← cancel b on numerator/ denominator

= \frac{9}{19} → B

Please help, i don’t understand this at all.
zubka84 [21]
So, standard form basically takes the shape of Ax+By=C. You want all of your variables to be on the left side and your constant on the right. There can also be no fractions!

In your case, since you didn't mention a y value for y, your line is y=-3/2x+6

first we get rid of the fraction by multiplying both sides of the equation by 2:
(2)y= (-3/2x+6)(2) and get
2y=-3x+12
now all there is left to do is get x to the other side by adding it to both sides:
3x+2y=12 is your final answer
