contra was a label given to the various rebel groups, active from 1979 through to
the early 1990s, that opposed the Sandinista Junta of National
Reconstruction government in Nicaragua. the democratic elected regime in Nicaragua threatened USA private land owners in the country.
The main issues in the 1928 campaign were religion and prohibition. Attacks were made against Smith, claiming that if elected, he would make Catholicism the national religion. Smith campaigned against prohibition, while Hoover supported its continuation.

Lastly, the third and final stage was the passage of the goods the slaves would produce to Europe, like cotton and indigo.
During the Middle Passage, many of the slaves on the ships would end up dying. They were in very cramped places, with little food and water. Since they were so cramped together and could not bathe, many would catch diseases from the uncleanliness. Not only this, but they would be beaten harshly, sometimes even thrown overboard.
