Atoms emit light when electrons in a higher energy orbital drop to a lower energy orbital. The energy of the emitted photon matches the energy lost by the electron and that energy determines the colour (blue is higher energy than red, UV even higher than blue and so on).

Should someone who lives on the sixth floor of an apartment building be concerned about radon in his or her apartment? Why or wh
torisob [31]

Answer:

The person should not be concerned about radon.

Explanation:

A person living on the sixth floor of an aparment probably should not be concerned about radon. In the conditions of the Earth's atmosphere (temperature and pressure), radon exists as a gas. This gas has a density that is approximately 8 times higher than the density of air (9.73 g/L compared to 1.22 g/L). This means that radon gas would not rise, and instead remain close to the ground, meaning that an apartment on a sixth floor is too far away from the ground for radon gas to reach there.

A gas being denser than air is also the reason why if you blow into a balloon, it will fall to the ground, because CO₂ is denser than air.

Saltpeter is a compound made of potassium (k), nitrogen (n), and oxygen (o). every 100.00 g of saltpeter contains 38.67 g potass
xeze [42]
First, we need to compute the mass of oxygen found in 100 grams of saltpeter:
mass of oxygen = 100 - (mass of potassium + mass of nitrogen)
                          = 100 - (38.67 + 13.86)
                          = 100 - 52.53
mass of oxygen in 100 grams saltpeter = 47.47 grams

Now, we can use cross multiplication to find the mass of oxygen in 328 grams saltpeter as follows:
mass of oxygen = (328 x 47.47) / 100 = 155.7016 grams

The diagram illustrates the water cycle.
MissTica

Answer:

Precipitation

Explanation:

In the water cycle, water experiences different phase changes from one state to another in nature.

The cycling affords water to in solid, liquid and the vapor form.

From the cycle show, W represents precipitation.

  • During precipitation, water in the atmosphere begins to fall.
  • U is evaporation
  • X is transpiration.
  • V is the condensation.
