We could reduce soil erosion and recycle phosphorus from farm and human waste so that we could help make food production sustainable and prevent algae blooms. We can also do land reclamation as well to help solve this problem. With the land, we would have to design a system to where the land could be functional again in order to plant crops, trees, also to help the wildlife that was once a part of the island. Therefore if the design is done before the mining then afterward we can do the reclamation of the land which would help the people to be able to function after the mining. It would also help the future generations that come along after the previous generations. Everyone must work together in the process in order for everyone to survive. If all this is done then the people of the island would not have to import their food. The reclamation process is the most important thing that has to be designed first whether it is land, soil, water, lakes, and clay then after plant trees, vegetation, and other forms of plants to help replenish the land after the mining is done.

<h3>Answer:  b) 0.250 mol</h3>

============================================

Work Shown:

Using the periodic table, we see that

  • 1 mole of carbon = 12 grams
  • 1 mole of oxygen = 16 grams

These are approximations and these values are often found underneath the atomic symbol. For example, the atomic weight listed under carbon is roughly 12.011 grams. I'm rounding to 2 sig figs in those numbers listed above.

So 1 mole of CO2 is approximately 12+2*16 = 44 grams. The 2 is there since we have 2 oxygens attached to the carbon atom.

-------------------

Since 1 mole of CO2 is 44 grams, we can use that to convert from grams to moles.

11.0 grams of CO2 = (11.0 grams)*(1 mol/44 g) = (11.0/44) mol = 0.250 mol of CO2

In short,

11.0 grams of CO2 = 0.250 mol of CO2

This is approximate.

We don't need to use any of the information in the table.

Determine the number of grams in each of the quantities<br><br> 1.39.0 x 1024 molecules Cl2
STatiana [176]

Mass of Cl₂ : 164.01 g

<h3>Further explanation</h3>

A mole is a number of particles(atoms, molecules, ions)  in a substance

This refers to the atomic total of the 12 gr C-12  which is equal to 6.02.10²³, so 1 mole = 6.02.10²³ particles

Can be formulated :

N = n x No

N = number of particles

n = mol

No = 6.02.10²³ = Avogadro's number

mol Cl₂ :

\tt n=\dfrac{N}{No}\\\\n=\dfrac{1.39.10^{24}}{6.02.10^{23}}\\\\n=2.31

mass Cl₂(MW=71 g/mol) :

\tt mass=mol\times MW\\\\mass=2.31\times 71=164.01
